Question: Is anyone aware of an arbor manufacturer that will work with a Hudy tire truer for the Tamiya wheel / foam tire combo???

I don't recall anything about the RM being limited but Tamiya is king of the discontinued game. It seems like every Thursday or so they meet to dump something else from the product line once everyone is excited about it. This is only a guess but the F103RM has sold very well around the world in it's first run so, get rid of it and enter the anniversary edition and the new RC HP F103 which cost more but is probably still pretty much the same car. They don't have a pic up yet of the HP but I'm hoping for more than bling. On the plus side now we can watch ebay for a deal on a new RM.

Cobra had them for their tire truers. I'm not sure they are even around now. With the new popularity on the F103 it should not be much longer. I'll ckeck with MLP on that, he is a good source for that stuff.

What is the RC HP 103? Do you have a link or part number for it?

Whats the difference between the old RM (84031) and the new RM (84032)?

Well they put a pic on the Tamiya site. It is the #84032. It threw me off with the HP designation. Can't tell any difference from the list and it only shows it with the body on for right now. Which to buy, which to buy. robk posted the correct pic w/the blue body.

I think the only difference is the body. 84031 has the T body and the 84032 has the L body.

You can take the left side hub of the F103 rear axle and a turing car adapter, you turn the touring car adapter down on a lathe to the size of the Tamiya F103 rear axle and mount the F103 left hub on it with its own set screw.

My F103RM kit says it came with tires with part numbers:
Front: 49498
Rear: 58198/194

I see the Hop-Ups list tires with part numbers:
Front soft: 53134, medium: 53128
Rear soft: 53129, medium: 53135

So what are the kit tires? Are they poorer quality soft, medium, something else?
I'm used to kit tires being junk, but they ran fine in my initial test and are the same price as the hop-ups on the Tamiya web site.
I got a set of the hop up medium fronts and soft rears, but haven't had a chance to test them yet and when I feel them I can't tell a difference.

What do people know about these kit tires?

I have been trying some different tires. The kit tires are like a synthetic rubber like blue or green, or maybe like gray or white.

The other tires ("HBR") are like pink or purple, more natural rubber content.

Depending on track conditions, and your setup, they all could be useful.

I would imagine the HBR tires would be better for outdoors, since they would probably last longer and have more grip.

Kit tires would be fine for carpet.

Don't take these comments as hard and fast rules.
