Gold= Medium
Silver=Soft
I have run the golds, but on foams you should have more than enough steering, so you can better control the weight transfer
silver and gold are more for low grip, outdoor racing

Can anyone give me a list of parts needed to convert a GT spec to an RM spec?

Might be getting a deal on one, thought it might be cheaper to upgrade a GT to RM than buying one

Don't think it will be that cheaper to convert to a RM.

You need a new chassis, rear drive pod (all the parts from the spur gear and out + the other side), you need the RM's steering knuckles, I may missd out a few. You still need an F1 body 7 tires.

I think getting the RM kit would be an overall better deal as you get new parts too.

I'm thinking of others as I write this. I just handed out my last spare pod assembly to a destroyed left side pod. I've switched to the 3 Racing pod assembly, aluminum on all 4 sides because of the one I broke personally.

Is anyone running some sort of washer or shim to protect the ride height adjusters and rear pods? We've lost 6 battles with the PVC at our track so far as the bearings just get punched right through the side of the pod. I'm tempted to take a thin fender washer slightly bigger than the ride height adjusters, make sure the diameter is 6 mm and put them in there on both sides. I think it would help distribute the blow the pod would take to the thicker plastic of the pod side.

Default Foam Tire Part Numbers

Anyone have a list\part numbers for all the available Tamiya foam F1 tires?

Also, do any companies make an arbor to true these tires?

If you goto the Tamiya USA website, you can find the part numbers there
you have:
Kit foams F/R
HBR Softs F/R
HBR Mediums F/R
and then the premounts that come with the R F/R

As far as the arbor goes:
Model: 3023-070
Shipping Weight: 0.18lbs
8 Units in Stock
Manufactured by: Eagle
Thats from the DDrive website

John,

I saw some aluminium ride height adjusters from 3Racing on RCMart.

Why does Tamiya consistantly use crappy soft aluminum screws???? Anyone??? I would gladly spring for the extra .50 cent per kit just to have normal screws... sorry.... I just had to get it off my chest...

Then you should definitely take a look at the 15th Anniversary kit. That kit has THE best kit screws I've ever seen. The screws are steel, not aluminum, and the hex(2mm) are perfect and there is no chance that you strip one.

Unless it is one of the LONG Aluminum screws that holds the front end on. They are soft. I already had to slot one with a dremel to get it out.
