Wow this thread has been rather of late. Where did everyone go to?

I'm hopeful by next week I'll have some videos to post. I missed what should have been my first competition a few weeks back due to an untimely "dental mishap" which saw me heading to the dentist instead of the track on the morning of the race.

Leg 2 of the race is this coming Sunday, and a friend will be helping me video my debut.

Finally got my transponder over the weekend, and I now realise I am well off even the c-main pace (avg ought to be about 19+ sec/lap; I was running 20+ sec). Part of it may be due to the fact that I was using fairly worn tires, but I'm sure its mostly due to a couple of corners which I'm trouble taking properly (oversteering out of 1 corner and then understeering into and out of the following one).

Would using a motor with higher rpm help in any significant way? We're supposed to be using 11.5t motors. Mine (Speed Passion ultrasportsman) is rated at 3000rpm/kV, but I know others go up to 3300. Heck, the Prince motor from Roche is actually rated at 4000rpm (pretty high for 11.5t eh)!!

As rookies in F1 routinely say, my aim this weekend is to simply "finish the race"

Congrats to Jimmy Wright for another big win in RCGT today at HobbyTown Corona. Jimmy put it to them with his TrackStar prepped tb03!

i wanted to change the stock turnbuckles for aluminium ones. but tamiya hasn't 3x28mm alum. turnbuckles. what do you think, will fit the 3x23mm or 3x32mm ones? thanks

Default TB03 spur gear.

Just bought a TB03 and spent the last two days assembling it. I went immediately to a Novak 8.5 brushless motor and ESC. I also put my Futaba 2.4 in it.
I thought I had everything taken care of, boy was I wrong.

I had bought a set of Robinson pinion gears that I thought I could use on my TC5 and this TB03. The stock gear on the TB03 is 22 tooth, but I know I must put a smaller pinion in it for the brushless, like an 18 tooth. I went to do it and it does not work, seems like the pitch is different. The Robinson gears that I bought are 48 pitch.

So here is my question, what pitch are the stock gears and where can I get some new pinions for this car?

Thanks
Jim

Default ORC Amemiya SGC-7

Can anyone give feedback on the ORC Amemiya SGC-7 for TB-03? Does it improve handling and steering for TC racing?

The stock gears are 06 module, but you can change over to use 64 pitch. search the thread and you will find more info.
