Default Issue running 1S

Ran into something strange with a new-out-of-the-box speedo in 1s config.

Speedo does not turn on when I plug the receiver battery in. I have to power it through the speedo switch. I get the right chimes and beeps and can calibrate the speedo but when I apply throttle I get very little accel. Its like the 2S cut-off has activated. no power at all.

anyone run into this before? could use a little help.

thanks in advance.

Makes me think your receiver pack isn't actually making contact or providing power even though it is plugged in. I would check loose connections in the lipo, or that the lipo is in good working condition. Try another receiver pack to trouble shoot with.

What are you using for a receiver pack? Where are you plugging it into?

you didn't state whether the receiver and steering servo are working. first get the steering servo to function, i use a 5cell receiver pack from a nitro car to get things setup. then add the speedo.

Default 212 install

More a point of curiosity I guess. I read the instructions on the website/watched the video, changed the Explorer settings as directed but don't have Tekin.esc file on my disk. Running vs 208 under Windows 7.
208 runs fine, should the file be there? I don't want to mess up the install

How can I reduce RS Pro temps running a 3.5 in a TC on asphalt with nitro foams? Right now all temp lights lit up using no boost/turbo in sensored mode but current limiter set to off. Would using the current limiter help reduce temps? Would running in Dual mode with no timing be better? Motor is a Ballistic 3.5 at default timing. My fdr is 10.94 using 65mm Nitro foams. Motor temps are at 150F after a full 6000Mah 60C pack. I need to be able to run back to back packs without thermalling as I'm trying to prove a point to some nitro guys.

thanks everyone for the suggestions! we found it. rx and steering were working fine. The middle pin (red) in the receiver for the speedo was broken but still in place - it looked ok but when I started poking at the pins it came apart. what an adventure. swapped on rx's and it works fine.

Run dual mode, add a 2nd TT3520 power cap and a small fan blowing on the solder posts. You're attempting to run a setup that is on the edge.

Also I am running single cell 1/12 scale with a speedpassion 17.5 motor and boost rpm are 2355 to 2999 before the download the motor was running much cooler.

A friend advised that the motor really shouldn't get any hotter then around 60c .
I feel I should try and bring down the temp in the motor and the boost delay felt like came on right away so I increased the delay in the turbo as it seems to come on right away .

I am brand new to the electric scene so thanks for bearing with me.

Sorry, you have not provided enough information on your settings for anyone to make any valid comments.

Sorry, your high RPM setting of 2999 defies convention...Is that right? The separation of low and high should be in thousands of RPM as opposed to just hundreds. I would suggest that you thoroughly read this thread and concentrate on posts about 1/12 scale stock car setups. The Tekin website should also enlighten you about such settings. Or talk with local fast racers for their takes on what to do with your RS settings. Take your time and enjoy the ride. Bill

Anybody out there running an LRP X12 13.5 with 4-dot timing? What are you rolled out at in your 1/12th scale? *no boost*

Any new 212 settings yet?
