1) Clean out the inside of your motor. Sounds like you might have some debris
2) Download the latest firmware from tekin's website, 1.98
3) Install 198 on your PC (you have to completely uninstall the old version first)
4) Upgrade your ESC using the hotwire
5) RECALIBRATE YOUR ESC TO YOUR RADIO <<<important step
6) drop the timing on the endbell of your motor to something like 10 degrees
7) Now that you are upgraded and recalibrated, go through the settings in the hotwire.... I would start with these

Sensored only check box
Timing boost - 20 (this will give you a total of 30.. 10 on motor, 20 in hotwire)
Throttle profile - 5
Current limit - off
motor type - brushless forward and brake only
Ok, after doing this now I have 4 flashing led's and no throtle?

Sounds like the esc is not seeing neutral, thus not arming. When you give it throttle or brake do the flashing lights jump from one end to the other?

You need to recalibrate your ESC to your radio. How to do that is in the RS manual. Its very easy, and takes like 5 seconds. Also, and especially if you are using a 3PK, you will want to run a slightly higher neutral width in your hotwire settings. I run 25 i think.

if you still dont get it turn on the car with radio off

you should have all the 8 leds solid (no signal)
then turn your radio on, you should get 4 led on at one end (pull the throttle ) and the move from one end to the other ( not seeing neutral )

press and hold mode you will then hear a chime then follow instructions

If it still not working when in step one full throttle adjust endpoint till you hear chime

I tried setting my trim to 0 and I have a JRasorus xs3 do I have to set all the setting to 0 or just the trim? In the TBD mode the throtle is L/F 20% and the break is R/B 65% the mix is 125% and throtle forward is 100% and break is 100% and I have recalibrated this thing 6 times in the past hr.

Make sure that you throttle/break trim and sub trim is set to zero, if the trims aren't zero then it interferes with the RS trying to find neutral.

Hold on,

What 4 led's are flashing when the unit is on? When the RS is unplugged from the receiver you should see ALL led's flashing.

If however when it's plugged in and you see 1,2, 6, 7 you've either got the wrong motor type selected OR the motor may have an open winding.

Did this motor get run hot?

I need to know which led's are shown?

you might not have recalibrated the throttle brake correctly...

put it in calibrate.
wait for it to find neutral then it beeps 3 times
pull the trigger for forward wait for 3 chimes then push the throttle forward to brake and wait for the chimes

Seriously thinking of purchasing an LRP SPX unless i can get this set to my satisfaction maybe the never ending upgrades will fix the problem roll on profile 200 if it ever hits the street.
This will be my last attempt to get what i want before i decide to part company with the RS . Hope it is solved as i really like the TEKIN products but it seems we are been used as trial bunnies . There have been so many upgrades (some of them duff releases) im a little bit dissalusioned.

RANDY are you listening can you solve my problems.
I'm listening. I'd like to see your setups. I'm confident that I can help anyone using Tekin get the RS to feel right for them. Setup is key for feel and speed.

We allow the user to run backwards software should you choose to as their are different feels and some prefer to use what they know.

Even with 198 software I can get the RS to run right there with an SPX on a track with average sized straights. Once the track gets longer and straight away length grows over 100ft the new 200 software will be needed to compete. Not only will it compete but it often will surpass the "other" speedos being used right now.

If you or ANYONE else needs setup help please contact me:

More often then not someone has had just one setting or a combination that of settings that has caused their setup to be off.
