O.K.

I Just purchased an RS and have a few questions. Should I be running 198 or 194 for single cell 13.5/17.5?

Also, what should I set my boost at? Should I go with Max boost or run at it at 30? I will be running my motor with zero timing.

Also, what is a good drag brake setting and also a good brake strength setting?

Thanks,

Travis

I have not run a Tekin 17.5 but i would try around 5.0. Temp after 3min to see if you need to go either way a few teeth.

Also set the motor timing to around 5deg.

198
Max boost
No drag brake
Full brake, adjust out in radio if you need less.

I run v194 wth a 17.5 on full boost, I run a slightly lower gearing but it really depends on the motor you are running, a Tekin or Trininty you need to run a lower gearing compared to a Novak or an LRP, make sure you keep a check on the temp after 3 min.

No Drag brake and full brake, no timing on the motor.

I hope that helps

Increases motor temp quite a bit, if you can get away without it, the motor will run cooler and you may get away with a tooth bigger!!

and make sure you recalibrate radio to esc again after changing settings on the RS.

Hey dude, good to see your enjoying your Tekin gear. The boost setting can only be seen when running in sensored mode which is a little check box on the right in the hotwire GUI. Most common settings are full boost on esc and zero timing on motor for 17.5 but it sounds like you got the car cookin at the moment. Let me know if you have any more questions will be more than happy to help ya.

Cheers
Adrian

I run RS and RS Pro's in all kinds of oval and pan car onroad, heck even in a vintage trans-am car, so a fellow racer asked a question about running a 3.5 in a touring car.

I said to run the Pro, keep the heat sinks open to air, add a second capacitor and run in program that does not put "Boost" (can't remember the name). Does this make sense? Is there some other setting or different set up for the caps that should be done.

Anyone run something similar?

Thanks in Advance

Till 4T you can use lipo I thought. So check this.
Set it in dual mode. set the timing around 40.
Put a fan towards the solder post. this will keep the speedo cool.
This works great.
