My esc goes dead by itself. No LEDs on the ESC. Servo went dead as well. It comes back on out of the sudden again.

I have checked and cleaned the receiver, checked the battery connection but still dont know the root cause.

Can someone shed some light?

FYI, i am using 3PK with spektrum micro rx.

Thanks in advance.

first thing I'd check is the plug... make sure all three wires are fully seated in the black plastic plug. Sometimes they can work loose and then make intermittent contact with the pins in the receiver.

If that's not it, check the wires where they're soldered to the positive and negative posts... a bad solder joint there can cause intermittent shutdowns.

We race on similar size track and we end up with ratio of around 7-7.3!! Maybe you should consider trying that low

I have been having a similar problem, and it turned out to be a bad bullet connector solder joint. It would work for a whole heat then nothing, then work again, finally came totally apart when disconnecting battery.

I drive an rs pro with a novak 4.5t with lipo's in a pro10.
What you really need to do with mod motors is to put a fan on the chassis that is blowing at the posts of the esc. The posts will get very hot and so will the wires and cap on the posts and everything they connect to. Even the motor wires get hot.

Not something you want to be doing for a long time that is for sure.

When the esc gets hot i noticed a drop in performance. You really need the fan.

Next week i will have a race and will see if the fan is doing it's job.

i think so too,
also randy said the same thing and send a picture to how to place fan on tha chasis. please inform when you put the fan, if it's doing its job.
also my concern is we are doing the races openair, and in turkey we have very high temperatures in summer time.

Has the brakes been worked on in this build? With my old 3PJS controller I've always struggled having enough brakes but in this last build the brakes seem a lot stronger just during the ESC setup. I'll be testing the car in a few hours so will see if the brakes are indeed stronger.

How light must i gear my car? i started with 4,7 with full boost.
Now i drive 5,4 with 23 boost and i feel that i can go lighter.

I'm now faster than i was in the race so i think that next race will be even better and my lap times will go even faster.

Who knows. I keep gearing shorter and shorter and it keeps getting faster and faster.

Don't be scared to gear down lower than you may think it "right."

We did some testing at Speedworld Raceway where the Reedy Race of Champions is being held. IT has a 160' straight. We were using a radar gun to measure top speeds also. We found that we could drop from what the "normal" fdr of 5.0ish was all the way down to 5.8 depending on the timing setting.

For the record, highest top speed posted was a Tekin RS Pro and Tekin Redline with a 13.5 at 39mph(Jason Moberly). We didn't stay with this setup as it did get hotter than we'd like. We did drop gearing substantially and found a good setup for this track.

Point is that every track is different, layouts are different. Lap times are what counts.
