hi DZ,
which luna 23t motor are you using? currently i'm using lu-85, the standup speed version geared at 6.09 at my local track. after only 4 packs, the brush looks normal but the comm looks slightly reddish. any idea what's causing this?
as this lunatic motor is OEM by yokomo, i believe the yok brushes would do fine as replacements, i'm planning to try that once the kit brush wears out though.

I'm not to sure whats causing that.. possibly check that the motor is not coming off to hot..check the heat of the motor after the race..
It's very hard for me to get yok brushes. Hoping there was another alternative.

i find it strange also, the motor is coming off hot to touch though. but then how come the brushes looks ok and not discoloured if the motor is overheating?
i'm also considering using orion's standup enduro brushes in the luna as well.

hi there,
sorry, couldn't help at all as all of our pals are using the LU-87. but give a try 5.9 - 6.2, see how the car tops out on the str8 and the comm/brush wear rate is like after a few laps. most of the 23ts fall in the gearing range...

Default Tamiya Type RR Motor Setup

Yo Dave!

What would be a good setup for the Tamiya Type RR Gunmetal Motor?, how long do you break it in? and what type of motor springs would you use on the motor?

Please Please! answer! I have been trying to contact you for a very long time now and I would like to know more about the Tamiya Type RR motor, and get the most power out of it as possible. Thank you!
