Just look around the model street, Kwong Wa Street. Around 90% of the rc shops are located there. If you're going by mtr, get out at D2 exit and walk to the end where Kwong Wa hospital is located. Turn left, walk past one set of lights, past the escalators which go up then you'll see an indian food shop with a bb gun shop. Walk inside that tunnel and you'll see the first batch, walk towards the end of the tunnel and keep following right you'll see another 6 or 7 shops, can't remeber.

New to the 1/12 scene, was looking at getting the 12R5.1/ or Gen X (neither available right now), would i be better off waiting for those cars or getting a 12r5 (NOT 5.1) right now, ill be running brushed till i get my BL setup next month or so. And it seems i can upgrade to the 5.1 setup quite easily.
Only reason I ask is i can get a 12R5 next week instead of waiting till end of month. Thanks

CRC Tires
Has anyone run CRC tires on their car..if so what is the difference between them and jaco tires...someone told me that you had to shim out your car or something...can someone explain...

The off set is different on the Jaco and CRC wheels. If you've been running Jaco wheels you will need to remove approximately 1.5 mm from either side of the axle to get the same rear wheel width. I am going to try the CRC Yellow rears and grey fronts tomorrow and will have a better idea of how they compare to a Yellow/dbl pink Jaco set up.

My experience with CRC wheels on a stock old style 12R5, not the newer 10r5 pod parts or the 12r5.1 is, The CRC wheels will NOT fit the car, you can not shim the rear end properly to be centered and under legal width, the solution for me was to cut the inner shoulder on the left hub down a little. Basically the if you run NO shims on the left, and enough shims on the right to center the axle and wheels, the overall width is too wide. Other than that, they work good, I think the CRC tires don't peel as bad as jacos, but the rims are weaker, easier to punch out the center of the wheel in a crash. Just my .02 $

For spec classes 10.5 and slower I run jaco yellow rears and black fronts. In mod magenta's front and rear. Hope this helps.

finished my 12r5.1 kit and I found that I need to space the wheels an extra 1mm each side to keep them even and to stop the rear left (non-diff side) wheel from rubbing against the rear pod. I am using Jaco Yellow on prism rims. Once shimmed 1mm each side the rear width is 171mm.
Also one slight issue, which im hoping will bed down on its first run tomorrow, is that kingpins dont seem to have a smooth action through the arms. I made sure all the plastic pivot balls were pushed in the correct way.
I have no lube on them at the moment.
Any ideas? or will this smoothen out after a run or two.

Before polishing the kingpins, I would look at the balls, see if they have a burr or a rasied edge on them that is binding up the pins, it is very easy to damage the balls putting them in or to have some mold flashing there, the ball also needs to pivot freely both in the upper and lower arms, the kingpins are pretty smooth as is, polishing them will help a little, check the balls first.

Anyone know if aftermarket steel\aluminum front end balls are made for the R5?
