I have two E4 cars that I run
One in Stock 27T silver can which has had no problems
One in Mod 4.5 Brushless 5 or 6 cell. This car has snapped 7 UJ's in 3 meetings
Anyone have a quick fix to stop this happening?

After a year off racing electric I have found these cars very easy to drive with top results gained running the cars out of the box. Lots of rear end grip with excellent handling.

Hi Gensei, Just wondering what the red screw on your top deck is screwing in to? Mine just has a plastic insert there with no mention in the book?

many thanks, john

Rear CVD is not Steel.. it is aluminum...

front CVD is Steel...

is it fit front CVD on rear?

Thomas P 12-09-2007 09:59 AM

ahh, maybe i wrote little wrong, rear CVDs are snapping off like toothsticks, they are Alu.

is there any news if Steel is coming for rear? OR can front be used @rear?

can other brand be fitted until TM reelese any Steel rear cvds?

I have the same problem and I use front CVD on rear that fit.

However, my front CVD broken too, now I use 415msx front CVD & hubs fit on E4, I really hope TM can modify they CVD, it too weak!

ShadowAu 12-10-2007 12:46 AM

My question is HOW are you breaking them???... Is it an impact thing or is it something else?

Thomas P 12-10-2007 07:40 AM

not me, a clubmate. dont know actualy. could be a impact, could be touching a curb, wheel spinning up,and getting grip then in the carpet and snaping it off..

however,it seems like it is the weakest point on the car :/ dont feels so good since ive bought one, just waitig to get mine

E4 Diff TIP

E4 Diff TIP:

E4 Diff Ball -> 2.5mm

Xray T2 Diff Ball -> 2.4mm

when you use T2 diff ball in E4.. you can feel more smooth diff activity.

Recived it, im almost done...1 thing that ive noticed, the ballstuds are way to "short", on swaybar (the stud in lower arm, rear and front) so i have to "shim" it out so it dont touch the lower arms app 2 mm

rest is real good!!

I got myself the E4 But still haven't had chance to run it been Busy at work. I've been running the MI3 for a few of months. But let see what this car can do on the track. I will be running the TM E4 on stock and 19T expert class at my local track using brushless motor and Lipo batt. This will be the first time I'll be using lipo so I thought this would be the perfect chassis for it.:nod::nod:

Car have some flex but I think it would be good if your running rubber tire on carpet.

WingZero 12-15-2007 07:15 PM

I want to be able to run carpet or asphalt on rubber or foam tires. that is why i was asking. Trying to get two cars and have one for each.

OLD 69 12-15-2007 09:29 PM

There is a US Spec (foam Carpet) car coming out early next year.

Thicker chassis
Diff up front
etc etc

...Ari

luic 12-16-2007 03:04 AM

The car are very good in asphalt, too, with low and high grip, and rubbers tyres.
But, must work in the setup slightly, i run without the central rigidificator, HB springs, and HB sway bars, in medium-low grip track, and the times are similar to the National champioship, i feel better handling from the minute 4, because is good with the tyres, and not overhead it´s,i make poor fast lap time, but best time is in five minutes.

In addition to the Alu rear hub carriers, Kfactory release a good part comming soon, I know...;-), these guys are working very well and appreciate the suggestions.

Greetings, Luis C.

my to clubmates run Modified, 5 cells and BL..indoor on carpet, NONE of thoose to can break hard without having the middle strap are slipping or what ya calling it..it ended up that they almost didnt dare to break at all in the 180 turns...

Bigger puleys and in plastic is a must...i think

Daniel Tengvall 12-16-2007 08:30 AM

I had my girst go with my new car yester day. I´m runing modified with 5 cells and brushless and LRp Vtec 27 tires.

The box setup was way to soft for our high grip track. The was overstearing and was really hard to drive. Making the car harder in the front and raised the shocks made it better, but it was when I moved the rear shocks to the most inner hole the car started to feel better. I also changed the rollcenter. I but a 2 mm shim under the inner turnbuckle mount on front and a 2 mm shim on ballstud on the rear hub. I also changed to 1,4 mm swaybars front.

In the end of the race the was really good but pushed a bit. I would like more toe-in att the rear. 2,5 degrees wasnt really enough. Do anybody know where I can buy the new hubb carriers with 1,5 deegres toe-in?

The only negative part I found with the car was the belts. They seem to slip really easy. I made the side belt harder with tensioner but it didt solve the problem. In the first main the belt even poped of the car. Do anybody have any tips how I can make the drivetrain spinn frealy without having the belts slipping?

Cheers
Danie, Stockholm Sweden
