I'm considering a Team Magic E4 RS, and need to know the following things:
Can it take stick packs?
How does it compare against other electric tourers on the market?
What's the quality like in TM cars?
I've got a Team Brood 11 turn single modified motor, would this be a good match up?
Cheers,
Michael

Most stick and lipo packs can be used. It's the best handling EP at the market.

i've just finished building my E4 and i want to bolt a brushless 17.5 (Australian Stock) in. Just wondering if any one has recommendation for a spur and pinon in 48pitch to get me started??

thanks
Prime.

i would like to know to. i bought one of these and it doesnt fit around the dimples in the chassis that stick out towards the center of the car. and at 70 bucks a pop i shouldnt have dremmel slots into the side of it. i dont want to have to grind on my chassis either. do the newer versions of the e4 have these dimples in them? look at the bat tray if you dont understand what im saying. if you look at the top if it has a dimple on each side to fit past the the sides. look at the pic below and you will see.

cyrrus 05-17-2008 03:25 AM

hey guy's I'm comtenplating on swicthing rides. just curious what everyone opinion on this car. what are the main parts needed for spares. I read somewhere lipos don't fit(might be one brand). If i did go with this I would go with the asphalt spool version.

cheers.

Hoggy 05-17-2008 03:36 AM

The original E4 Has to be modified to fit Lipos However the newer versions RS and FS Do not need to be modified you just need to use the shims which come with the kit.

i am selling my TM E4 RS version if you are interested look at my signature there is a link there

I thought lipos are not allowed in races as it's considered illegal.

u have a older version i run the e4fsc1 and it does not have any dimples in the chassis as i wrote u in the email i would dremal the humps down cause it make the car make weight and help with the handeling . fits all the e4 cars i have seen out here i have sold a few of these trays with no problems with fit and or finish and the cost is cause when you are not getting them made in china and only getting 20 made at a time they cost alot if you are not happy call me like i stated in the e mail and we can fix the problem

buffalobill989 05-19-2008 05:23 AM

5 cell Brushless Tarmac Setup needed

I love this car but am struggling a little with a Outdoor Tarmac setup for 5 cell brushless class.

I find the car oversteers in the slower tight corners, any idea?

Anyone have a setup they can send me please.

Many Thanks

Anthony

there are a couple of set ups that i posted a while back , try any of those they worked great!! where is your battery located? when i ran 5 cells i had them all the way foward.or you can split them up too, 3 foward and 2 back or 1 and 4 and so on.

not a little mod as i first thought. the tray winds up being a little long and is taking some dremmiling and fitting to get it to work. this tray does not fit well in the original e4. so check before you buy. 70 is alot for something you have to make fit:cry:

Just woundering how you do the xray front uni mod?

jonny69 05-24-2008 04:22 AM

Hi, I bought a second hand E4 just after christmas. I have now got to the point where two shocks are knackered. Both caps were mismanufactured and the orange bladder required cutting to thin the edge down so I could even get the threads to start.

Anyway I dislike the shocks and would like to buy some new (better) ones. Can someone please point me in the direction of a shop, preferably UK but not a requirement where I can buy the K factory LX shocks. Of course I am assuming they are the best, if Tamiya TRF shocks fit then they are of course another option.

What is the best shock option and where can I get them from. Cheers. Jonathan

nickko 06-01-2008 05:07 PM

E4FS, E4RS, E4JS & E4JR can use most Lipo.

hi all, my car should come in sometime next week, but I had a question about the stock 110T spur gear. Is it metric, like Tamiya spur/pinions? The reason I ask is because i have lots of RRP 64p pinion gears. And if it is, rather than buying metric pinions I was just gonna swap out the spur, thanks for your time, and I cant wait till my LHS gets my car in

Lycan 06-02-2008 12:58 AM

They're 64p

kawshon 06-02-2008 01:00 AM

awesome, thanks for the quick reply :)

nickko 06-03-2008 05:18 PM

don't get this lipo yet, but the spec sheet shows it's quite wide. E4JS & E4JR should be no problem. Not sure about E4FS & E4RS yet.

I was prepping my E4 last night in an attempt to run it for the 1st time this weekend and noticed that the bar where the sway bars slot into seems to move at one side, which in turn makes one side of the sway bar more responsive than the other and therefore stiffer which must effect the handling. Is this normal? or if not how have you guy's fixed the problem.

It does this at both ends, it's the bar mounted to the bulkheads. From looking at it it will make cornering one way different to the other.

Cheers
Aaron

there is an adjustment screw in the mounting braket that you need to adjust on both sides to get the same feel.

Hi I was looking into getting an e4, but I dont know what to buy. I run rubber asphalt in the summer and carpet foam in the winter. I also run trakpower 4900 lipos. Which model will be the best for me. Also I do not like running a spool or oneway.
How do the a arms hold up? I looked at the chasis over the weekend and that was the only thing that I saw on the car that looked weak at first glance.

The arms hold up very well , i would get the FS version is for foam but it works very well on asphalt. You should be able to fit the lipo in it if not all you need to do is to shim up the top deck for the battery to fit. Also the FS comes with a front diff.

Lycan 06-24-2008 03:57 PM

Anyone know if its possible to get 0deg rear toe on the E4?
I'm using the car in a silvercan class and don't need rear toe as the engine doesnt have enough power to require it.

Cheers
Lycan

Doug Lemmons 06-25-2008 08:36 AM

Lycan,You can get the 1.5 k factory rear hub carriers and put them on backwerds to get 0,you must set the rear toe blocks to 1.5 to do this.Hope this helps.Doug Lemmons

Havago Racing 06-26-2008 03:41 PM

FYI

The new Intellect 3800 hard case Lipos fit my E4.

Just needed to drill a hole in the back end of the top deck so that I could plug the negative wire into the battery. It doesn't appear to weaken the top deck but means I can't mount my cooling fan there anymore.
