I just got 3mm washers in different thicknesses from Tamiya. I used the 1.5mm to raise the top plate in order to clear an IP3800.

Try Zippy flightmax Lipo.
4000MAH and fit perfectly and cost about 30 dollars cheers Roy

It's the bumps that dont line up.. LAZER or ORION 3800's fit perfectly with the above deck middle mount.

At the moment we are 90grams under with a 3800 in it. I hope they change the rules of EP and weight chassis without fuel supply like they do in Nitro. Then for those who want to have Excess power will pay the weight penalty not those who would rather have good power to weight and run efficiently. We ran NiMH and were 180g over, no one seemed to care when were over over. One scrutineer rechecked the scales... We make the 5 minutes with the Orion 3800/4.5T and a standard ESC. |
The chassis is very lipo friendly and it's nice not to worry about strapping tape! You need bullet connector type batteries. For the types that fit see and earlier post by me in this thread.

With the 4000MAH Zippy i am 45 grams underweight.
This is with a body of 100 gram and a minimum weight of 1350 grams. cheers Roy

Its super friendly when you get the right battery.. It's the side belt design and low centered CG spec that is a design feature, and putting a PHAT 5000 in it would be a design compromise.

hey guys im new to ele onroad .. i have been checking TM for a long time ... I have G4+ ... but becuz im not a good driver so i break the plastic a lot of time so I'm not very happy with their nitro.... but im interest in E4RS or E4FS, what is the different between these 2 car ... except the foam tire and rubber tire ... I'm looking into Indoor Carpet or outdoor race so which car is more suitable for me?
Also I have the tekin 17.5 BL motor and i heard it's not ganna fit into those 2 cars?? |
The main difference between the 2 cars is the chassis and top plate.
The E4FS has them both in a thicker size then the E4RS. Also the internal drive ratio is different between them. E4RS has a internal DR of 2.0588 and the E4FS if i am correct 1.889. A Tekin redline motor will fit in there but if you want a bit more movement of the motor for more choises of drive ratios you have to dremel a bit of the side belt tensioner. That's it,at least in my case:D. If you buy a E4FS and it has the original rear arms, change them to the one from the E4RS because that will give you more suspension travel at the rear. Regards Roy

Originally the E4FS has a ball dif at the front and a E4RS a spool.
Differrency between them is with a spool you get less steering but a lot more braking into a corner. The one way at the front acts as a spool under power but off power it is like a dif with one disadvantage and that is you loose a lot of braking into a corner. The diff gives you good braking power on the straight and into a corner and good steering to. If you want a car that is less agressive on steering use the spool, if you like a lot of steering but want good braking to,use the dif and if your that driver that won't brake much then use the spool. Hope this answers your question a bit. Final point...The E4FS has front and rear alloy drive shafts and if you are going to use a spool they will snap faster then the steel driveshafts used on the E4RS. Regards Roy

The FS also has a 3mm (thicker) chassis vs. the 2.5mm chassis for the RS. Spool gives less steering going into a turn but has a lot of steering coming out. Since a one way is free off power you have better turn in going into a corner and pulls like a spool coming out on power.

The RS feels very light on the track. As if ur car has no weight to it.
So suspension set up is a must to get great controlable grip at high speed. FS will feel closer to a Traditional TC. Still very light. Will be setting this up for some Show Drifting, that weight is welcome to keep sidways motion. =D |
