Re:
I was using adhesive foam strips between the top deck and battery - the Tamiya ones I mentioned earlier - but that just wasn't working for me.
As I always do, I spent some time in thought and this is what I came up with.
Pictures are easier to understand then words.

Re:
Currently using 5000cst. I am not the fastest, still 0.8s off race pace but I only started racing FWD Touring mid year 2014.
We race on a large outdoor asphalt track. Not too technical, fast and flowing mostly.
Still working on setup but I would advise you start with kit suggested diff oil and work from there.

Well The MTS FF Pro comes pre built and the diff filled with what feels like 300,000 to 500,000. The guys at Team powers are running 2.5 million in their team cars. I tried Silicone earplugs and it took away initial turn in. It pulled like a 4wd coming out of the corners though (The MTS FF Pro has way more front weight biase then the other FWD cars). I guess I am just going to have to keep experiemnting though.
I hate filling diffs.....

Ask the fast guys at your track what oils they use - probably the best advice one could give.

I confirmed with Andy @ Rc explorer, he says the diff is filled with 1 million cst and shocks with 450cst. Oddly he does not recommend using putty but yet they list blue tac on race opt web page. I didn't run the car but I'm going to fill a spare diff with 2.5 million.

Re:
Best get the others involved as well. FWD is a blast and competition can be fierce.
I'm always learning and always looking to educate myself further. What handling characteristics can one expect when using a lighter oil and when moving to a heavier oil/putty?

Develop more on-power steering techniques, and sometimes a split second tap on the brake is all it takes to get the car to rotate in the beginning of a corner.

The MTS FF doesn't rotate like that yet, the first race night with it I had to let off let it coast in and then hammer it to keep it in line. Touching the brakes gives it a big push. The car was the weirdest weight bias I have ever seen 70 front 30 rear. I may move the battery back and see what happens but I don't want to lose how it drives out of the corner. It pulls like a freight train.
