Now have to figure out a motor/esc setup.

The Hobbywing 13t/3000kv setup is very popular.

From your description, I haven't the foggiest what part you could be missing. If you have the manual, you should be able to find the part #. If you don't you could go to the Tamiya website and download the manual. Here's a couple of other sources. Speedtech or RCBOYZ and if all else fails, direct from Tamiya.

Tested a new motor fan for Steve from R1 Wurks today. This fan and mount was his endbell cooling fan. His older fan was 10.5mm thick and his new one is only 7.5mm thick. Tried it my M05 and had no clearance problems. The motor came off about 30 degrees cooler than running w/out a fan. I was using a "warmer" than stock motor and it came off the track cooler than a stock motor.

Thought this might be of interest to some of the guys running Red Dots or that type of motor. R1 Wurks has some other really nice fan set ups for TC and FF03s. A little more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for. I got the other R1 Wurks stuff I use from Speedtech.

where do you guys mount the transponder for the M05? Doesn't seem like there's a lot of room besides if you use the factory transponder mount.

If you use a personal transponder, then here is a good spot. The photo is from Google.

I mount mine under the turn buckle that goes from the servo to the steering linkage.

Went to the hobby shop and they gave me 5x11x4 traxxas bearings,
someone on my tracks forum said the bearings are 5x10.

Do I need to buy another set of bearings?
