iti20090,

We have found that running 60D's on some tracks might be faster on the straight ,but the advantage is lost on the corners. The fastest laps are from cars fitted with small tyres due to the pushing/braking into corners of 60D fitted cars.

However at the end of the day the decision is yours.

Another person who can offer tyre and advice setup would be z-mann, however he doesn't post much these days.

Regards,

Calvin.

We use the Ride tyres here in Sydney. If using a full insert they work extremely well as a front tyre,. In particular the 3035. And some guys really like the 3020 as the rear tyre

yeah i had a set of those non belted ones a couple of years ago, complete junk.
the ones metro hobbies have are the belted x patterns.

Thank you Calvin.

The problem is here nobody races minis, let a lone a RWD mini from last century like the M02. As for grip, we race on carpet and we're struggling for grip with 4WD cars, so there.

But I know what you're talking about. I have tried all the tires and inserts I could think of (I am not actually gluing the tires anymore since it makes no difference and I was running out of rims, I am only testing the car with a silvercan, so I can pop the tires off quickly and pop in a different tire or insert or more foam, etc).

Anyway, I'll keep trying and pop a question here every now and then. At the moment S grips with TC Sorex medium A type inserts cut down to size and soft Tamiya foam seem to grip best on our carpet. I can drive the car with a very smoothly controlled trigger finger without spinning out, but I am not fast.

And I agree, suspension is a joke on my car. The suspension arms flex to the max before the damper shows any sign of operation.

And by the way, someone was saying some pages back that M05PRO kits are gone. For someone whoy wants one really really bad, I know where two kits are on the shelf and may be persuaded to disclose the location.

Skitee 08-13-2009 10:57 PM

That is what it sounds like

mcdogboy 08-13-2009 11:13 PM

Only thing it could be by the description.

redbones 08-13-2009 11:30 PM

thought so too. what a confusing name to give it. btw, I've never bent a rear axle yet.

mcdogboy 08-13-2009 11:33 PM

I have :sneaky:

Skitee 08-13-2009 11:51 PM

They get bent pretty easily when the guy at the rear of the grid doesn't see that the leaders have tangled and ploughs into them flat out.

Servo recommendation

Please recommend a servo for my new Mini (M05). I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I want a reliable servo. Metal gears, bearings are probably good for Minis, I assume???

Reliable, metal gears and bearings means you have to spend some money
