Tired of all your mates laughing openly at your 20C Lipos? Sick of being that 'little bit smaller' than what everyone else has got?
Do you want to know what the REAL deal is with C ratings on lipos? Can you really squeeze that bit more punch out of a 25C, or even 30C pack?

hi guys,
just checking if any 1 had encounter this problems before.
i was using a spektrum pro Rx sr3001 with futaba 3003 servo on my mo3
its use to be ok no problem, but lately, i notice the the servo was unable to get back to its center position, it will take some time to get back like 2 - 3 seconds. which means 1 lap you can get a straight line , 2nd lap you wont get straight line...
i have cross check with other 3 servo (3003) same problem, but if use KO propo servo, the servo will work fine....
i even tested with other spektrum Rx, same problem with futaba servo but no problem with KO servos...
was wondering if the speed controller will have effect on the servos??

So 4000 lipos should perform better than 3200 lipos and voltage checks that I have done seem to indicate that. I notice on your tests that there were no 4000 lipos in the mix

However it seemed to neglect that the slightly higher capacity lipos "stretch" the discharge curve hence provide more voltage across the race time. Yes we cant use all the amps provided but the higher voltage should make a difference.

Correct.... our test was purely to establish any 'difference' in C ratings and whether there was an impact on performance.
That's what we did and we've shown there to be virtually none.
Relative performance between different mah packs is another issue altogether.
Remember, we're talking about how the pack performs in a 5/6 min race here. And what a pack does on the bench with a constant discharge load applied is nothing like what it does on the track - which is why we test with the Datalogger - on track.
My gut feeling - assuming a fully charged pack - it won't make any difference at all if its a 3200mah or a 4000mah - within the confines of a normal 5/6 min race.
That's what we did and we've shown there to be virtually none.

Cause my friend and I used a 4000mah 30C lipo using the Orion Vortex 1.5(same speed), but I pulled away on the straight when I got a TP 5000mah 40C.

Question I know the HobbyWing 13T system has been used with great success but I wanted to ask if anyone has tried say a Novak 13.5SS motor in their Mini's?
Only asking since Novak now sells their Havoc System with their SS series Brushless motors. Yes they are still around $50-$60 more then the HobbyWing system but kv rating is close with the HW 13T being 3000kv and the Novak 13.5ss being 3300kv?

Novak is true 540 size though, Hobbywing is actually a 380 can (with big fins) so you can't actually directly compare the kv rating.
And for us here (and in most of the world apart from the US) the Novak system is well over twice the price of the Hobbywing.
