For those who are looking for something a little different, I'm posting some pics of the car that we used in our 'Mini Build Up' story. Because the car was pictured by itself initially, with no other reference, only a couple of people noticed that it was slightly different....
In fact, this car had a satin black chassis, not the normal gloss. Check out the second pic to see the difference.
The satin finish is super smooth and flat and makes the car look downright evil compared to a normal black M03.
How'd we do it? Tim took it to work and used a super fine grain sand and sandblasted it.. The people who've seen the car in real life have all said how awesome it looks - trust me.

The only flaw in your plan being that apart from the owner of the aforementioned Homo Pony Paint Job Mini, the rest of us don't drink...
No Brewski's were consumed during the formation of any of the silly plans. Who knows what we'd come up with if we did drink...
The 'Satin Black' Mini came about because I wanted to do one, I just didn't know how. And Tim came up with the solution.
Oh by the way, it doesnt work on grey chassis cars, they look exactly the same!

hey I heard someone say that u can change the internal grears in the
mini so it would be faster with the stock sliver can. is this true?

Eagle Model in Japan make 'speed-tuned gearsets' for Mini.
To be honest they don't make a lot of difference. And they're illegal for racing.

Tamiya Minis have become a big hit here in Finland during this winter. A lot of our racing drivers have bought Minis to have fun, also including couple of our regular national touring modified A-finalists. Everyone who have drived a Mini, knows that itīs quite boring when driving alone, so there was a clear demand for races. One of the most active clubs is organizing a 3 race series for Minis only, the first race was on the weekend after christmas. I just wanted to share a video I made from that event.

M03 or M03R
I am interested in get a mini to start racing again and not sure which one to get. The M03R has a few alloys pieces that I assume the chassis will weight more than the regular M03 which is a disadvantage if the class that I will be in only allow silver can motor.
