Thanks Tony.:) That’s exactly what I needed. I do like idea of keeping the cost down and I know some of aftermarket stuff is just junk. But people use them and it’s very hard to tell them they’re not allowed in racing after they already put it on car (and spent hard owned money).
Bakaguyjean, I use champ made ti and stainless screws which are made by same people who makes Tamiya screws.:D
Do you have web link to Tech racing, Tobee craft, Square?

New Toyota bB mini body !

Most of our clubs do allow some flexibility at a club level, so if people run the odd alloy part then generally that'll be allowed.
However at any significant event (Interclub or State Titles etc) we enforce the rules to the letter.
I must admit, I now tend to favour the 'If its not Tamiya, you cant put it on the car' approach. Using what is essentially TCS rules makes it easy for us.
We dont even allow aftermarket shocks, only Tamiya.

Anybody know where to get a front bumper for the Suzki swift? Like what's on a touring car?

RC Square do a Touring car like front bumper with foam insert, but the plastic that it uses is very brittle and smashes into tiny bits after a hard hit

A TL01 bumper is the same as the Mini bumper, but a lot wider... Wont fit on a SWB but will on a LWB and a Swift.

ANYWAY HERES THE NEW PICS AFTER I PUT THE FLAGE FROM THE HOP UP OPTION THAT I BOUGHT,ALSO NOTICE THAT THE PICS I POSTED YESTERDAY HAS A SPACE ON THE FLANGE AND NEEDED SHIMS TO FILL THE SPACE OF THE LONG FLANGE TUBE BUT NOW ITS PERFECTLY FITTED.
JUST DONT KNOW WHERE TO USE THE SPARE FLOURINE COATED BALL CONNECTOR WITH HEX.

GUYS ANY INPUTS ON THIS ONE?

tony gray 11-12-2007 08:24 PM

Dude, just DRIVE the thing....you're spending way too much time worrying about every little thing. And it's not really that important.

99% of all these settings and special bits make no difference on a mini anyway!

Just get out and drive the thing and have some fun...that's all that matters.

Then start playing with it if it doesn't work....;)

slomo 11-12-2007 09:37 PM

yeah true. alloy shocks are the only hop up thatll go on my mini. once i fall in the trap, next thing i know, chassis is the only original part left. just not worth it. drive it till the wheels fall off. :tire:

tony gray 11-12-2007 10:01 PM

I'm certainly not picking on S & S..not in any way. I just don't want him to spend so much time working on his car, that he loses sight of what Minis are all about - having fun.

I'll say now that the top 5-6 REALLY fast guys out at rc-mini all run cars that are virtually stock.
i.e. Plastic shocks, new springs, and thats it.... No alloy anywhere, nothing special at all.

However, we all know a bit of blue bling looks cool! Ha!

tamiyarcracer 11-12-2007 10:11 PM

Tony, did you notice that Tamiya looks to be announcing an Aluminum damper for the mini?

tony gray 11-12-2007 10:13 PM

Did NOT see that one Troy... It's a bit of a Mini-fest at the moment!

Did you see that Jasons Store on ebay has 2 blue chrome chassis sets left....
