I figured some of the guys were running no front sway bar!
Did not have the time to try that one.

Mo3M setup

Hi,

Thanks for sharing your mini setup.

Just wanted to ask what type shocks, 1/4 and 3/8 in inches? Removed the pink foam in the bladder?

Any comm drops on motor?

Thanks.

Joel

I used the pink shocks...with no red foam insert on the top of the bladder for less bound pressure. Eevery round I blew out the motor with motor spray, and used Hurricane Blue Motor Drops.

Hey Guys,
I had a blast running the Mini Coopers this weekend at the Mini Mayhem race. It was a shame I couldn't run the mains as I had to work.
My setup was as follows...
FRONT
Neon Blue springs
60 wt oil
2 hole pistons
no swaybar
Droop was 1/4 of shaft showing at full extention
REAR
White springs
40 wt oil
2 hole pistons
Large swaybar
Droop was 3/8 of shaft showing at full extention

Front tires were S grips, double stuffed
Rear Tires were M grips with one soft insert
Tires were sauced fully front and rear with JTG and cleaned with WD40 after every run. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Stephen

Thanks for posting your set up. I'm having a bear of a time getting my mini to run on carpet.
I was wondering what spacers and how many you use in your shocks?

Thanks Tom

I would have to pull them apart to check the actual amount of spacers. I believe it was a 5mm spacer in the front shocks , and a 3mm spacer in the rear shocks.

No, all prizes (nitro car kit, pit towel, hats, bodies) were donated by a former TCS champ who cleaned out his storage closet. Amazing what one can accumulate after attending enough TCS races.

Hopeful to have Tamiya support next year.

Im a little surprised that Tamiya didnt pitch in, If you try and run a Mini Race again and would like to see about getting some help from here in Japan i can see what i can do. You would have to have a bigger body selection that included different brands. Not just using Tamiya bodies. I dont know how hard it is to get Chevron or ABC in America but maybe i could help out with that also.
Just PM me or send an email if you would like.

where i can see Chevron's body shell line up for Mini in the internet???

bakaguyjean 10-14-2007 07:08 AM

Chevron is a one man show and he is pretty busy but if someone is looking for just one body my shop can handle it,but if some one in America would like to be an agent i might be able to get him excited about that.
Here a link to the page. Just go to the rc bodies button and you can see the M Chassis bodies. The four M chassis bodies he makes all fit the M03.

I like that Monster"M" body. It has a kind of dragster look.

I have the Mini Monster body and also the Honda city. The Mini monster a little wide but that lets you do crazy things like use F201 Wheels. The Honda City comes with a rear body mount susport that keeps the body from going from side to side. All in all the bodies are pretty fun and really you cant make a really racey body for the M03 so you might as well have fun with it like it should be.
