Does the M04 Aluminum heatsink-mount actually do anything? It's only touching the motor with 2 screws...

On a side note, what colour should the Tamiya black-can Sport Tuned brushes be? I think I've overgeared it for a race and baked them with the TB-02 , and they're a dark purpley-grey. I forget what they were before, but i'm being outrun in every race (hey, could be the batts too, I guess). Is there any way to fix them, or is that it? How hot should it be after 5 mins?

Thanks!
Dark purple means brushes are toasted, after 5 minutes if you can't touch it then something is wrong. Could be over geared/ drivetrain binding/etc....

Yes, $40 dollars that you can't spend on good batteries......

Quality..... The real question is putting $100 bearings on a $94 car?

The asnwer is yes there is a difference
The Ceramics are lighter, and they are free.
I would spin my rear tires on the M03L and the would spin free for almost 3 minutes. So there was virtually no drag. I would say the ceramics ar twice as free as a cleaned out Tamiya bearing

Redline unless you are trying to win Nationals or a trip to Japan I would not bother. While Troy's car is real free 1 board and you give up that freeness in sitting there. But here is the positive if you nose in and stay on the throttle you can do a killer burnout

Hey I found a new Mini cooper S body. made to fit the m-03L chassis. by a company called Kamtec Based in the UK. I got the body off of Ebay for 17 pounds wich is just under 30 bucks with shipping. So this will be painted like my daily driver and my standard cooper body will get painted like one of the mini race cars.

here is the links www.kamtec.co.uk

Ebay item # 1652979

Yes they have some interesting body shells, shame they are in the UK. I'd like to see what will actually fit the m chassis cars.

I have a bolink classic beetle shell, I have to get painted one of these days to fit my m03

Kail- Try M-Grips up front with a firm full-size sedan insert (like a Tamiya black) and S-Grips out back with a 60D foam insert. That should do the trick.

I have had good luck with inserts for the 1/18 off road trucks. plus they were 2 bucks for 4. I used the hard inserts. I have read they info about the full size stuffing but have not tried it. something along the line of tapeing the dia downand stuffing and restuffing until it all lines up then glueing. it talks about the stuffing the full sized inserts on the tamiya ste op page for the m-03L
