Yep, THOSE Sport-tuneds.... Same as you use.

I'll be putting up a full report on rc-mini in the next few days and that'll give a run down of tyres, wheelbases, etc. But in short, the final results proved conclusively exactly what we've said all along.
There is NO significant difference between any of the different wheelbases....

More to come

OK, here's the full story with everything you wanted to know about the BIGGEST event for the year for us here at rc-mini. Australia's most important Mini event and as competitive as all hell!

Read about the track, the event and all the silly things we got up to.

Oh and get the lowdown on the winning set-ups from the Top 3 guys as well.

Click here to read it all.

Great work Team RC-Mini!!

I LOVE the "Leader Jersey" idea. I'm going to see if I can get something like that here for our Magic City Classic next week.

Looked like an awesome meeting - we've got the first ever Mini GP over here in England this weekend on carpet. :)

Anyway, I thought you might like a peek at my latest project: a P4M

I built this out of some Pro 4 and Cyclone spares.

Not 100% done, but nearly.

Sorry for the blurryness, it was about to rain and it finally did when I snapped the last one.

The body is the old beater is a Tamiya one I got with a chassis from ebay - the wheelbase is right but the width is out and the front arches needed enlarging. WB 210mm, width 190mm. :D

It still takes 6 cells, and the front gearbox design means it can be swapped from a spool, or a diff to a oneway when needed.

Haven't run it yet though. My local club class rules are limited to 2WD and usually M03's, but hopefully I'll be able to run this with a suitable motor and probably a higher weight limit than the Tamiya's.

Make sure you get an enormous size one Scott...Looks much funnier.

The lettering was actually airbrushed on by me using Pactra r/c paint... :ha:

does anyone know if those chevron mini bodies are legal to run? and does anyone know where to buy them at?

minimanintaiwan 05-10-2007 07:01 PM

chevron

you have PM.

"legal"? At Tamiya sponsored races, NO. Different rules at local clubs though but no reason why not.

Anyone know an online shop that is either in the UK or ships to the UK that stocks either:

HPI-4560 X-Pattern Tyre (B15-40) (Mini)

or

Pits D20 (wavy pattern) (Mini)

?

Our local club runs on a dusty surface and X Patterns are the only things that last a while. Also, anyone tried the Kawada radials? How do they grip? long lasting?

I would check either RC champ or Rainbow ten.
I hear the japanese version of the HPI X patterens are way better then anywhere else.

tony gray 05-11-2007 03:43 PM

And Pits are no longer in production... You cant get em any more.

tony gray 05-11-2007 06:23 PM

Reading about a good race meeting is one thing, but you cant beat some good footage.

Click here to see our edited newly done 8 minute highlight package.

Its a big file (sorry about that) but includes 2-3 minutes of practice and then highlights from the 3 A finals. Oh and some MEGA crashes in super slo-mo too... Watch Jay's M03L attempt to take flight around the 4 min 19 second mark!

tomdav 05-11-2007 07:36 PM

Those things are hauling! Keep waiting for em to traction roll!
