I tried this diff lock #53200
Yes, great out of corner speed but no braking and you just coast to a stop and no reverse too.. dare I say exhilerating and dangerous at the same time. Akuhon, does your diff lock permit you to slow down or brake? |

A one way only give a locked diff if your on the gas, but you cant break and you wont have motor breaking. They are build for 4 wd cars not for m03's. |

Spool Parts
The part number for the tree that has the plastic locker is 9005422. I put one in an M03 and it handled kind of squirrelly. In an M03L I think it worked better, more predictable. As noted before, better acceleration, and the tires seem to wear longer. Maybe it’s because they aren’t spinning as much. The two plastic discs replace the MA1 gears and the MA3 nests between them. Really straight forward and you don’t have a bunch of gunk in the diff. If you’re not racing TCS give it a try.

This isn't exactly locking the diff, but at last weekends TCS race in WI I loaded up my mini ball diff with crazy thick grease. A guy there told me that would help the car accelerate off the corner and not unload the diff as much. His car was fast so I thought i'd try it! My car was nearly undrivable after that! It would pull hard to the right on acceleration and dart to the left if I lifted... needless to say I spent over an hour cleaning all the gunk out of my diff... It seemed like it would work but it seriously changed the handling of the car. I think a totally locked diff would have even worse pull...

locked diff.....
I shimmed my diff.....various different ways........pretty much created a locked diff with a nicely rusted washer!! :) :) :eek: :o Spent countless hours on the suspension...build adjust....build run.....adjust :sweat: ....then my 9 year old son finishes his Mini......friction dampers....just lowered.....white springs in front....red springs in back......the car is a rocket :flaming: !!! Handles great right out of the box......I think Tony Gray is right....not much to worry about just drive them and keep smiling!!!! :) :) :nod: JMO

Tim K : I haven;t tried the 3racing diff.... once it's available, I'll give it a try ... and yes, I think it's adjustable for diff lock, as well. |
Are the Sanyo 3600 stick pack any good? How is that compare to the $80 4200 matched stick pack?
I tried the trinity 4200 zap pack, it has no punch. I use a CE 35 charger. |
Our experience so far is that 4200's RULE.... Nothing else has the voltage and punch. Even the lipos cant match them.
And you dont need matched ones, any stick pack 42's will do pretty much. Cant say I've heard anything about the Sanyos at all, but no-one uses them which cant be a good thing! |

How many amps do you charge the 4200 sticks? My pack Peaks at around 4300 and 9.03V. I use a CE GFX turbo 35 at 6 amp and still no punch. I discharge at 30 amp to 0.9v and I only use the pack once each day. |
