Well damn. I was wandering around Seoul looking for some thing to do that weekend. Thanks for the vid links though

Venue was inside Kintex convention center where a car show was held. I actually only went because my daughter was sponsored to fly to Korea to race in the 4WD GT class. She was 2nd fastest after control practice, but I could not give her a good car once the grip went up, dropping her to 8th overall in the A-main.

I did not do well in mini, somewhere in the B-main  I guess I got distracted by the car show.

But still got a look at the fast guys setups... very soft springs (neon), rear sway bars (some had front as well), to drop the CG and resist traction roll. The M05M Mazda MX-5 (TQ) and M05L Mito (2nd) were practically same speed.

Korea seems to be breeding a lot of fast mini drivers :D

Now I'm really sad I missed it

M-Chassis was won by Korean driver Im Man-Soon who was the class of the field, he won the first two legs of the final, lapping most of the other competitors in the process. Should be a strong contender in Tokyo in November.

Thanks for posting these! I sorely miss F1 & Mini racing, used to have it here in 239 Florida. Now any racing like that is about 100 miles away.

Hello everyone, new hobbyist here! I got introduced to RC cars about a month ago, and got myself a Mini. The chassis is M05 Pro with the electrics from the stock kit. I'm starting to get the hang of driving it, pretty fun!

Pictures of the car can be found in my album, as apparently I can't link those here yet..

Some nasty overspray and other small mistakes, but now I know to be more careful with the next body (already ordered:D)!

Hi there, mcmattila. :D Nice work on the body..

Here's a picture of mcmattila's Rover Mini.

Looks fine to me!!! Wish I could get my bodies to look that good!!!

Thanks for the compliments and putting a picture up! Much appreciated!

A bunch of custom stickers goes a long way when finishing a body ;)

Hey guys. I'm new to Minis and recently built a M05 V1 Mini Cooper to race in a local spec series.
I've actually read the last 200 pages (whew that was long) and took notes, but there is one thing I'm missing.

For guys that are setting up ride height and droop with shock/damper lengths, what length should the shocks be end to end to achieve a 5mm ride height? I'll be running on carpet.

Thanks!

I think it's ballpark 56mm.

I build mine 55.4mm outside to outside. Works good.

I'm gonna 55-ish, if all parts are new and in good condition. Allow for a little variation after the parts get chewed up by pliers and the injustices of life.

Thanks guys! This gives me something to work with.

For me 56.5mm is good. But I run on asphalt tracks and use Ride Mc38 front and Ride Sc32 tyres. We all run slightly different setups due to our driving styles and surfaces we race on. Mini can be so much fun at times and they can also be frustrating little cars.
Good luck with your racing and enjoy the class.
