Go to "Tony Gray" signature site, he's about 6 post up and there are some really good set-ups to start out with oil filled and friction shocks. The main thing is keep the center of gravity low and the car also. Try to get electronics that will fit down into the chassis and take the gear diff and stuff it full of anti-wear grease that comes with the Tamiya kits.

Also welcome to the world of mini's, now go out and buy all the hop-ups you can get. :D

Anyone know where I can find Part #51238 its the M03M F Parts Set, which has the steering knuckles for the M03M Swift as well as the chassis extension?? I broke one of the knuckles and they are on backorder with Tamiya USA, anyone else have any suggestions???

bizkit1 10-18-2006 02:59 PM

Aren't the knuckles the same as the TA-03 or 04?

I dont know that much about what is interchangable with what as far as Tamiya goes, this is my first year with this car actually got it from Japan before the US release. Here is a pic of the parts. I do know that they are different from the other mini chassis that tamiya makes and it has two ackerman holes on the steering knuckles themselves.

I havent' done a direct comparison side by side, but they sure as hell look like TA04 parts. And that is further emphasised by the fact that the kingpins are definitely TA04 items...

would be interesting to find out for me esp. I dont know of anyone with a TA04 around here to compare......will have to see if I can get some good pics of those parts off a TA04 and see if they are the same. BTW here is a better picture of the parts for the M03M.

Difuser 10-18-2006 10:14 PM

the knuckles are all new molds, the kingpins are used by the trucks, ta04, tl01 etc. The uprights might be TL01 but are prolly new molds, the rear uprights are all new olds also. No worries they are not TA04 parts that have been on the shelf for years........

What pitch are the OEM gears?
