thanks jim i have seen them on rc mart but there's no stock of the shells. the corsair website doesn't exist anymore either.

You're right. Never noticed the out of stock thing.

Well, if you're looking for killer selection, (including those cool mini pickups, muscle cars, touring cars, tuners...) check out m-chassis. They've got all the weird stuff and shipping from Australia is much cheaper than you'd think.

Shocks

Thanks again to all those that offered advice for my leaky shocks.

I stripped them down and had a close look. It was obvious that at least one o-ring was nicked but nothing visible on the others. I replaced them all but I used some spare TRF 42214 x-rings on the fronts to see if there's a difference.

I was careful to build them all as per this thread to stop any damage to the rings when installing the shafts and to ensure proper seals all round. I did use green slime on all 4... hopefully not a bad thing (I have no idea what the x-rings are made of lol).

Will report back when we next get to run them... weather dependant I'm afraid!

Jim, I visited the Mini store you gave us the link to. They have a lot of neat stuff. Maybe Tim K could give us some insight as to conversion rate from US $$ to Aus $$$. Shipping seemed reasonable enough, but they had some stuff we can't get here, so shipping is the price of doing business.

monkeyracing 02-25-2013 04:26 PM

1 USD is around .97 AUD.

Come One, come all to Honest Timmys Emporium of M-Chassis goodness.... :)

Bad Euro...

Only 3cents off...Euro 1.34...!! Shame on Euro!
djmcnz, those X-ring ""O" rings are IMHO JUNK! Cycle those things a few times with your fingers, and the whole mess is in your lap! Clear O-rings fit too tight, and need some time to slide good. Orange seals best. Use Grandpa's trick or just use Green Slime and be careful....All shocks will weep a little...which is probably why the oil gets black after awhile...

Here's a more up to date view of the Bezerk RC Tamiya 416 MWB 4WD Mini conversion.
Pretty much ready to go now.

Yeah. It's a mystery to everyone but Tamiya. More money to be made in selling hop ups than kits, I'd venture. Or, perhaps they're planning a flashy disco sister to go with the M06R!

I ran the 03 for many years and its proven to be fast and tough. If someone asked just starting out in mini is say go with an 03 because its cheap, easy and plentiful...if they were gonna spend time tweaking and setting up and wanted to race tcs ..id say 05. I remember last time at the Memphis tcs, the 05 was 1/2 a sec a lap faster than very well set up 03s..maybe it was the long wheelbase :ha:;)

i have to agree , M03 is just easy , but the M05 can be AS quick , maybe not quicker , but i will keep developing my car till i can be quicker and more consistant with the car

next race is using the Sweeps and a 21 turns brushless set up so i will see how the car goes with these settings

Different wheelbase and can be used with all 416 parts like pivot blocks.
All bulkheads are from a 416 the suspension parts are from another manufacturer.:sneaky:
