I'll try and gets some pics tonight and post them tomorrow with out the electronics. A number of people has expressed a lot of interest in this car and the they were amazed on how well it looked exactly like a mini and handled like a 4 wheel drive car.

Can't wait to see the pics.

Any tips on how to locked a ball diff. Must be TCS legal. I have tried tightening the screw and using AW grease but still not good enough.

Pics of my new ride: :)

You can use glue stick (Glue gun). and it can be easily remove. Nice ride

I'll post them tonight, I'll have my TCS mini cooper next to the modified one.....

I'll even put in a pic of a TL01 chassis as well.... All 3 in the same pic...

Danjoy the lubricating with Glue will not work for TCS been there done that. If you want to get a spool or alot stiffer breakaway than a ball diff go with the gear diff and shim it uber tight and then grease it with AW. There is also a locking "kit" that was used in the Pajero's for the rear diff. It uses all the same spider gears that is used in the M03 gear diff.

Turbonium 07-19-2006 07:07 AM

if i remember right, the guys who tech the car said there must be some diff action... can be tight, but not a "spool".

not positive about that, but just thought id mention it. prolly should check with Fred, maybe?

Would a cooling fan for motor and esc be TCS legal in a Mini? My 540 motor comes off the track super hot. 90+ air temp/130+ track temps.

Just wondering.

rccardr 07-19-2006 05:50 PM

You are correct, Wes. No lockee, must be some diff action even if it's very stiff...at least that has been the rule in the past.
Shaunmac, it would be legal but tough to pull off, as there's not much of anywhere to mount a fan without reeingineering the car. Motor's just too darn deep into the chassis. Might be able to take one of the 3Racing dealios (available on eBay for about 5-6 bucks) and carve away half of it then mount the fan on the outer holes...but then it would probably hit the body. Best bet is just to run your Mini for no more than five minutes....

ShaunMac 07-19-2006 05:57 PM

Are you sure it would be legal? Our race series will be using the TCS rules.
