So for medium grip carpet, which m03 wheelbase length do most people prefer?

Usually medium, sometimes long for me.

Here I used M03m... big mistake as traction roll was my enemy. The M05s were less susceptible to traction roll.

The traction roll was so frustrating, my car looked like this in the A-main.



I took anything I could find, put it on the left side (e.g. lead, heatsink, tamiya wrench).

Also had left ride height 3mm, right 6mm. And all different spring rates in each corner of the car.

That was the time I wish I brought my M05.

I run the short wheelbase m03, but with the rear two degree toe hexes that really help against traction rolling, but in all fairness, running the soft red tamiya springs ,front and back, have stopped the tractuon rolling tendencies dead on their tracks... Gluing the front tire side walls really help, and I run S-grip front tires with 60D slick rears.....

Can someone explain to me how the following tires are different?
Looking at rcmart, they have 4 different slick tires...
- Tamiya (#53215) M-Chassis Slicks
- Tamiya (#53222) M-Chassis Super Slicks
- Tamiya (#53340) 60D Reinforced Tires TYPE-A
- Tamiya (#54216) 60D Reinforced Tires Type B for M Chassis

53215 - 60mm, crappy kit slicks
53222 - 55mm, kind of sticky
53340 - 60mm, very grippy slicks
54216 - 60mm, medium grippy slicks

THanks.
Would Type B (front), Type A (rear) be a good combo for a M03L on carpet?
Or should go with a less grippy front tire like a radial?
Can I assume the kit tires are useless for racing?

Everyone's situation is different, but I've had good luck with S grip radials on either all 4 corners, or just on the rear with Type A slicks on the front. A little CA glue on the sidewalls on the front, leading right up to the edge of the tread that meets the surface will stop traction roll, should it become an issue.

If your selection is limited to the tires you listed, then A on the rear and B on the front would be appropriate.

I currently like Type A on all four on both M05 and M06 with Niftech, as one of our local tracks is Niftech only. Just don't oversauce the tires.
