What market do you suppose they're going after with that? Won't work with regular M chassis and motor's too small to compete with the other 4wd minis. Sure is neat though.

In Asia 4WD mini is big, not like in other places around the world. After running a ABC Hobby Grid/Gambado last night if I was in the market for a new 2WD mini, I know which car would win hands down. And it isin't a Tamiya.

Hey guys ive got some pinion questions. Ive got the stock 20t pinion in my M05 and I want to put in a bigger one to make it go a little faster. What should I buy? Do I have to buy a Tamiya specific pinion cause the shaft size or the pitch is different? Or can I buy like a robinson racing pinion cause that what my lhs has in stock? Thanks ahead for any help.

The max size you can use is a 20T pinion.

Robinson Racing makes a line of pinions in the Tamiya/0.6 mod/48p "metric" pitch. Part numbers are easy to figure out. EG: 20 tooth would be 1120. 18 tooth is 1118. They're stronger than the Tamiya part and cheaper, too.

Now, the first person to mention "There's no such thing as 48p metric!" is going suffer from premature baldness AND get a kick in the junk. I know there's no such thing officially, but it's a commonly used term, so suck it up.

Yeah, but the new Tamiya's running a 380 motor. Takes it a class down, doesn't it? It's also using a stubby LiFe pack. Yikes!

I was rebuilding the TA03 ball diff today and the threads snapped as I was tightening it. Now screw won't tighten at all. If I leave the two smaller concave washers out it can be done though.

Guess I'll be needing a new diff part.. can the endbell part be purchased without having to buy a whole new diff?

We're running 4wd mini at Kambah in with M03/5. Its working with 21.5 non turbo and gearing to match the Tamiyas. (eg for a HPI Cup Racer 38/65 gearing is about right).
This is only at the fun club level we have going at Kambah.

For 2011 TITC, what brand/model/part number should I buy for the gears in M05 or M06? I see in their rules they allow very big pinions.

Also M05 or M06 for TITC?
