i used a stock motor with it. Wouldn't reccomend to race with that ESC, but playin with it it should be fine.
|
well, not sure how it would work with the 23t. the Tamiya fwd amp rating is 60, and the Novak XRS is rated at 40, and it shows for 15+ turns.
prolly be ok even to race with a silver or Sport Tuned Johnson motor, but might be trouble beyond that... on a + side, it is capable of disabling the reverse, and just having brake.... |
Thanks Hodrod and turbo for your response.
I tested the rs540 sport tune on the weekend and was a bit disappointed with the performance. I saw no noticable difference in over all performance or even the acceleration with a 16t pinion. I am suspecting though that it maybe as a result of the battery pack and charger that i am using. (piranaha 1900mah and wall charger) Anyways I have invested in a intellipeak ice competition and a epic 3800mah team matched, so i will let you know how it performs when they arrive. Additionally I have ordered a Novak XRS Reversible Sport ESC, a Trinity Komodo Dragon Pro 19 Turn Spec Modified and a Tamiya Super Stock Motor RZ 23t Major investment.... anyone wants to pay my credit card bill this month :) :) :) |
You should notice a big difference with the batteries and charger. I ran a LRP IPC ESC No Limit, now that I have switched to a GM XS3R ESC and now it just screams power even with a Peak 2400 pack and 19 tooth.

Hi there,
What tires do you suggest for asphalt racing? I've "destroyed" set of M-chassis super slicks and Mini hawgs after one battery :/ Next i'm going to try hpi x-patterns if they last longer. Currently I'm running my mini with Nosram 1-star brushless, 20T pinion and Nosram VTEC SC-3800UP Factory Team single cell batteries. Got nice running time, acceleration and top speed but that worn of tyres eats my wallet too much :) |

Can the #53697 motor be used with it? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...3&I=LXGYS0&P=K If anyone has used this motor in an MO-3 please give some feedback !!! |

Alfa Romeo
Are the mini cooper and Alfa Romeo sprinter wheels and tires interchangeable? We are running mini coopers and I thought I would get the Alfa if it uses the same tires..........thanks.
|
yup... same wheels and tires. although, the alfa is rwd, cooper is front.
|
OK Wes.....What diff do I need to buy for the Mini? Thanks man
Also, Which shocks? TRF?......MiniCVA aluminum?.........Or the plastic shocks from my TA05? Brant |
Pookster-
TRF shocks have the bling but the shorty short short plastic ones (shorter shock bodies than the ones that came with your TA05) are much cheaper and work just as well. Either a Manta Tay or TA03 diff will fit- no real advantage of one over the other. You'll need bearings, obviously, and I like to use the metal motor heat sink- it doesn't really pull that much heat out of the motor, but it keeps the plastic gearbox from deforming when things get really hot, like in Memphis :sneaky: You should consider the aluminum front hub carriers, too. I've broken and bent more than a few down there.... |

Thanks fellas for the info!
On those shorty short short plastic shocks, where do you find them or from what kit do they originate? Brant |
not sure on that one... i thought the TA05 ones were quite short. mine has the standard grey TRF ones on it....
