Regarding the rear shock tower. Finally someone put the body mount holes to the outside of the shock tower. Which helps keep the body more stable. And the tower design looks stronger.
Regarding the configurations. Without Exotek even realizing it, you can mount standard packs, shorty packs up and down the center like all the other designs, run a standard pack or shorty pack sideways or run split packs very easy. I run my servo on the opposite side the car was designed for with shorty pack sideways. And weights towards the front when needed.

hey all. im thinking of getting this car to goof off with a local grp who race on a carpet track that could probably fit in a basketball court
rules require a 4.2 or up fdr. i looked at the tamiya site and the manual and i aint seeing much besides a 68 and 102 spur in which i was unable to find a 30-32 range pinion for this 68 spur. i did a search of spur in this thread and i couldnt find much.
is there a tamiya part number for a 30,32 pinion that i can find in the u.s.a.?
if not, would these items bolt into this kit? 69 robinson and a 34 kimbrough

most standard spur gears will fit... i've installed a speedmind and xenon spur on mine without problems (use 2 screws instead of 4).

you know, I just bought some RR pinions and spur. and I noticed the I could only use two screws to mount it. I am guessing that based on the the comment above it is normal to only use two.
BTW, I bought a 100T spur / 41T pinion. So the ratio is 5.29.
I am wondering though I should have gotten a bit larger spur and large pinion also. Although the motor says to use 5.75 ratio, today the motor did not seem to overheat with the 5.29. Make me believe I can up the ration a little more.

question about offset.
I was under the impression that with our chassis and zero offset wheels the car would measure at 190mm? but that is not the case? The wheels in the kit have 2+ offset which means that in order to really have 190mm track width we need to use 2+ wheels?
Or am I mistaken? I noticed this when I bought some 0 offset HPI wheels to install some X threads on them. But I would rather make sure I have the correct track width.
what would happen If I were to buy Tc body, let say Mazda 6.
