How is everybody achieving the FDR for running 17.5 brushless? So far the lowest spur i can find for my JRXS is a 118 so in order to achieve a 3.6 FDR i would need a 59 tooth pinion which i dont think anybody makes or i cant find one. And if i decided i wanted to run my pro4 the lowest spur i can find is a 88tooth and once again i would need a 59tooth pinion. Is it really possible to run that low of an FDR?

Thumbs up

Yes, very possible.

For the Losi, get a hold of the PRS spur gear adapter that will allow you to run standard spur gears. That will make your life easier. It will keep you from having to run 60t pinions—which PRS also sells.

Shaft drive cars are a little more difficult to do, because of the taller internal gear ratio, but it can be done. We ran 86t spurs on a TC3 with big pinions to get to the proper ratios.

I have run a Pro4 with a PRS 80 t spur, they also sell a 76t. The 80 fits fine though.

We have Vintage Tires back in stock:

http://hpiracing.com/products/en/4797/
http://hpiracing.com/products/en/4793/

We will also re-stock the Slick Vintage tires soon:

http://hpiracing.com/products/en/4792/
http://hpiracing.com/products/en/4791/

We we're a little caught out by the increased popularity of the Vintage class, and have adjusted future inventory quantities for the Vintage items.
In addition we are also creating a special events inventory "stash" for the Vintage items, so as to create a buffer of the must have "spec" items. So if anyone's trying to get stuff for a race or any organizers/shops out there are sweating it for a particular event....drop us a line and we will try to assist you in locating Vintage items ([email protected] HPI Vintage in the email description)

Thanks,

AH

Andy is the man. If that doesnt let you know that HPI is paying attention, then I dont know how to help you. Thanks again Andy and HPI.

About the Javelin. I know someone that will be thrilled to know that the founder of the Vintage TA Class is interested in a Javelin shell. He keeps asking everyone to keep an eye out for them.

We should compile a list of all of the cars that were ever in the real TA races and then poll the racers to find out which ones we would like to suggest to the Manufaturers.

Have you guys seen the multiple page coverage of Vintage Trans-Am racing in the latest issue of RC Driver? Pictures and everything, along with a little blurb on the front cover!

Those slicks make me think of the Gasser style of Drag racing from back in the day....

Anyone else thinking Vintage Drag racing?
