Regarding the Z... you could also argue that VTA is limited to American Muscle, or that SCCA Trans-Am featured two class in that time frame; over/under 2 liter.
On that train of thought, has anyone tried or thought of trying to race a 1/10th scale under 2 liter class along side the big American muscle? If so, how would one go about limiting the speed of the U-2 class? 380 motors?
Not trying to stir the pot are start of flame-fest... just throwing some ideas out there since HPI has their new Cup Racer...

Small bore Trans Am cars.
The Datsun 240Z to 280Z were considered production sports cars by SCCA as they did not have any rear seat from the factory and ran in C Production based on weight and displacement. However the same can be said for the Shelby Mustang's, they were classed in B Production with the small block Corvettes. Only the plain Jane notchback mustangs were legal in Trans Am until 1969 (Also known as A Sedan). The early Porsche 911, Afla GTA and Datsun 510 all ran in B Sedan since they were small bore GT's (less than 2.5 liters?) before that class type was created by SCCA (GT1, 2, 3, 4 & 5). I remember that the old Detroit muscled up Pony cars were called the trucks of SCCA due to their size, large lumps and live rear axles.

So in Palm Bay this weekend we'll have Evo's Cuda, Spngr311's Mustang and my Camaro... should be a good looking outing!
Either of you guys mind if i bring my World Gt? It'd be nice to get some laps on something other than a beat up basketball court.
Sunday can't get here soon enough!

That doesnt stop you from getting a bunch of HPI cup racers with 240z shells and racing them. Just dont say that its the official USVTA. I for one would love to have one of the cup racers or for that matter, a standard 190mm TC with one of the ABC 240z shells.
