Yup that is me. We are allowing 13.5 BL in the 1/12th class this season and are doing some limited testing with BL in the TC class. We may have BL in TC in the near future but I don't know yet if it will be in the same class or a new class.

and they fit in the car. Playing with the R1 instead of the R1 pro. Sure is cleaner without the sensor wire.

my point exactly! What motor you got in there? Plan to do any testing with a 13.5?

Hi all,

Really like the look of the new Tekin b/l gear and am considering switching from LRP.

I'm confused about the Kv ratings on the Tekin motors though. For example, the LRP 6.5 is 6,900 but to get to that sort of figure in the Tekin, you have to go for a 3T, which is 6,200!

I actually run off road so need to know what the Tekin equivalent for the LRP 6.5 and 7.5.

Cheers,
Scotty P.

Tekin DOES NOT recommend what I am doing (running to hot a motor with the WRONG ESC), and it says so on the box. I'm running the 448 in it, not supposed to. and later I'm going to try the 362 in it.

My goal with the R1 vs the R1-pro was a lighter more balanced car. I'm just trying to see what I can get away with in the name of weight savings.

Cool...good luck with that...hope you don't burn it up

I'm just waffling back and forth between getting the R1 now or waiting for the RS. Tekin is reccomending the RS for 13.5 and 17.5 but says the only real problem they had with motors like that was in oval where there is really high rollouts. I'll probably never use this for oval for for anything slower then a 13.5 anyway. But if I get the R1 now I'll have to get someone else's 13.5 since we are still waiting on the Redline 13.5.

kV rating has nothing do to with power, the equivalent of the LRP 7.5 and 6.5 are the 7T and 6T I would expect.

TRF415boy- Do you run 2wd or 4wd offroad? I use a 448 or my 537 in my 2wd truck and buggy, it's plenty for me.

Our 632 (3200kv) has lots of head room for gearing so you can gear up to get the performance you want out of it....just mind your motor can temps ( 180 is gettin in the hot range).

So far, the R1 is taking it with the 362. But it's getting very warm. Not supposed to run the R1 (not the pro) with this high a KV motor, but it's fun to test it.

Well I tried My R1 Pro with the Orion 10.5 this weekend. I had a lot of hope for it but it left something to be desired. I had to gear it way up over where the GTB was at which isn't a big deal. It would studder quite a bit and stalled out in the start of the main causing a crash though. All the solder connections seem good so I don't think I can blame it on that. Sadly I'll have to take it out. I'd hate to ruin someones race again due to equipment issues. I wish I wouldn't have bought two now.

I'm looking forward to trying the RS though. How about a trade in program?

Bob,
What kind of wire is that in the pic of your car? Is it something you sell?
