Compared to the 4.5 LRP, the Tekins Redline 448, 4T 4800KV. Tekin may be slightly higher then the LRP on KV's. still a good motor.

Hard to say but lrp 4.5 are pretty fast right ? Your probably running onroad car ?
Try an equivalent around 5500 to 7500 kv range, you migh need to gear it taller than most slotted motor you used before.
I do run my 448 with 23 teeth pinion on a T4 (offroad)

The 448 is a 4 turn 4800kv motor. It is a slotless delta design that has more torque and lower kv than a 5.5 slotted wye such as the 5.5 LRP. It can provide more power overall, but needs a larger pinion due to the lower kv. We think the lower kv and high torque provides a much better feel and more controllable wheel spin in offroad applications. In onroad they just flat have a lot of rip when geared properly.
Our motor numbers are very straight forward
623 is 6 turn 3200kv
537 is 5 turn 3700kv ... and so on done the line.
It is taking a little education to help people understand the differences. Basically gear up until you are happy or run into heat. Fortunately our real time onboard heat monitor will tell you where you are.

Ran the speedo for the first time last night. The RS performed amazing. The throttle response felt great, throttle was linear but can be adjusted. Played around alot with timing and gearing. Ran great all night. And look at the size, no speedo is close to that.

New Software Releases
The new Hotwire version 2.6 and the new R1 version 178 is now available for download at the teamtekin .com website.

Please use windows Add/Remove programs to uninstall the old Hotwire and install the new version.
R1 version 178 improvements….
1 – Fixed the timing adjustment, which may help starts a little with some motors.
2 – Improved low voltage operation, It should crawl home even on a dead 4 cell battery with no hesitations or stutters. This was really for the RS where it really rocks with sensored motors and tall gearing in 4 cell Oval or 1/12 scale.
3 – The R1 now displays the closest led, instead of just led1, when you have selected a custom value for any setting.
4 - Smoothed out a little issue we found in the drag brake.
5 – Improved radio signal processing for spectrum bibbles, still a good idea to run a cap on spectrum if you see any shutdowns.
New Hotwire version 2.6 items…..
1 – The new Hotwire features do require that you update the R1 to version 178 for compatibility. You will be prompted this is happening when you plug in the R1 units for the first time to the new Hotwire.
2 - We added a lot of right click and mouse over options and information. Look around and see what you find.
3 - Timing now adjust a lot further for use with the high turn stock BL motors. In most cases less timing and more gear is better, but to equal the no load kv’s of the 13.5 and 17.5 BL motors with sensored controllers you need a lot of timing. We realize gearing up even further is really difficult. It adjust from 0 to 30 degrees, 1 to 100 on the slider.
Note - Our sensorless motors run best at the default setting. You can increase timing slightly, but we do not recommend very much more than default or you will just see a lot of heat. Min timing is neutral and really where all motors run the most efficient. For 1/8 scale motors the min timing or just a few degrees advanced is best.
4 - The custom voltage cutoff is now stored on led4. You can turn it off or choose another cutoff with the onboard user interface and still return to the stored custom value.
We increased the custom voltage cutoff level to 17.9 V for 5s and 6s applications. Still not designed for use in 1/8 scales, but it works and people are doing it, so we are supporting it. IMPORTANT - above 3s you must use a higher voltage cap than is supplied with the unit. We have a forum thread explaining these applications. We could not get to 18V due to some math limitations, we could have fibbed. However, since our voltage cutoff reacts very fast and under load, it is still a lot more accurate and better for the batteries than most voltage cutoffs that only react after the battery has been below the setting for seconds.
5 - The drag brake in the R1 will adjust to higher levels in the Hotwire than on the speedo user interface. The speedo interface will adjust to about 60% brake strength for drag brake. The Hotwire will allow full brake strength for drag brake for crawler applications.
6 – In the R1 you can now adjust Drag Brake and Reverse Strength separately in the Hotwire. If you adjust BS on the controller interface they unfortunately pull back together to the same setting.
There is a RS interface in this Hotwire so those who get them soon will have something until we finish it all up and make it look sweet. There is a sensored only mode in the RS. In this mode it will still run a sensorless motor. It will also still roll to sensorless mode if it detects a bad sensor or the plug comes out. This mode simply does not allow a sensored motor to roll into sensorless mode during run. It stays in sensored mode, which basically removes our timing settings and runs the motor with the physical timing set in the motor.

The fixed timing adjustments will increase punch and top speed. The improved low voltage operation will also improve punch on 5cell. You would be surprised what you are doing to those batteries for very short time periods!
It is still sensorless but may have improved starts with the sensored/slotted motors.

I've had the chance of doing some 5-cell mod testing on a pre-release version, with the timing error fixed up, and I can tell you it's definately quicker. With the low voltage fixed the first lap cogging should be gone too. Will get the 178 a good try I hope this week end.
