Foam or Slicks doesnt matter at all really... its more of how you drive and feel your car running... Like me... I prefer the agressive driving... so placed another Hole down the middle of the Rear Shock towers to make it go like a Nitro Setup... but if you want more contact place your shocks second from the Highest hole to be safe... and work from there going to the middle till you are sattisfied with the traction you are looking for... and also the Shock Oil... 30-35 is the all around but mind you its soft... 40 is the standard issue for Pro4... I think...
Anyway... try to Setup your car on the Manufacturer's settings first and try to do some practice on that setup... after wards you will want to adjust either on the aggressive way or more safer way.
I did it but it was too safe for me... so I did some more aggressive moves with my Car...
You know the Upper Deck?... I Sliced it into two to give it more Flex and I dont use the stiffiner that you screw in the middle between the lower and upper decks. Plus made some big Holes rectangular Holes in the Chassis... to lighten it.
Go ahead start from the Manufacturer's setup and adjust according to your driving needs...
But I am just one guy to give you pointers... some are more systematic with their setup... try to ask around more...

Oh this part is very technical... Diff's,Oneways and Spools are Almost not thesame in sizes... Some requires 1 or more Shims... but there are some that doesnt require at all depending on how it was manufactured. You should get the Stiffinner of the Bevel gear also.. like the one that Came with the newer version of pro4... cause most of the Bevel gears are not Perfectly Flat and its a big help to have that Stiffiner. Then place 2 shims on the left side (1 Silver,1 Gold) then 1 on the Right side ( 1 Silver )... normally it works.... if it's still not enough... try to add 1 more gold Shim first on the Left, if still shaking remove it then place silver, do thesame on the right, dont over shim one side only, try to do thesame on the right side... But mind you that the Bevel gears should still have Play... and not too tight on each other. try to listen and feel the Gears... while you are spinning it... dont put grease as it will mask the feeling and Noise of the Bevels. you will not know if its either too tight or too loose... then you will have bigger problems when you run...
Plus check the Bearings, if it has a rough Feeling when you spin it... replace it... all bearing should be properly Oiled and free from rough spinning. that is one factor for noisy performance when releasing from throttle.

Isn't that JDM carbon shaft the same as the HPI carbon shaft? Nice purple pinion. Where did you get that? Doesn't the color chip off easily?

Oh, I thought it was from another brand. I'm using the same HPI carbon shaft. It is light and wobble free. But they say that it can't be used to mod motors below 8t. Is it true?
