weight savings will me minimal changing bearings... in the long run.... you'll have to replace those smaller bearing more often and more $$$...

Like Zombies said the weight savings is not worth the amount of bearings that will be gone through at this smaller size. There have been plenty of cars out there have gone this route only to change to larger bearings just to get more life out of them. When the Schumacher SST 98 had bearings this size in its wheel hubs if you touched a wall or a board you would blow them out....then the next year they went to 5x10 bearings so they lasted longer.

the EVO-IV uses smaller bearings.... and some racers are already complaining how quickly they wear out.
I'd rather finish a race with the bigger bearings than the smaller bearings that may fail and seize up... DNF.

I'm just curious, what the two holes are for that are located next to the motor on the chassis.

One of the little problems with the EVO4

950 bearings are a pain.. but I know of a company that is making hubs for it that will take a 1050 bearing

For balance weight. HPI will release it in August.

I use the Xray Weights... they can be screwed to the chassi as well..

I use Xray too, but only can screw one hole. I just use double tape.

mine is pretty secure with one screw and no tape... hasn't fallen off yet....

I think at, it is now much better to start new carpet season with my pro4 because i solve two problem:

Rear diff with better AE parts (no slipping anymore)

New front gear set ver 1.1/brace (more durable)

Those two things were pain in the ass last spring when i drove mod touring. I hope at they are gone now.

could anyone who has done the AE parts mod to the diff summarise the job? or point me to where I can find instructions, and maybe upload it as a file for download or image or something?
