My question, as dum as it sounds, but were do you use the screw????

Cheers

Hey Simon. The reason for using a smaller set screw on the pinion is so that the belt doesn't hit the pinion set screw. If it does rub, the belt will wear down. I use Robinson's pinion gears and I use my dremel to file down the set screw. It seems to work fine. Also X-ray has added a fix that will adjust the diff/ one-way/ spool so that the belt has better clearance between the pinion. I haven't tried it yet. Hope this helps.

Fillipow and I had a pretty good outing last night at our first "BCR Night Race" ... Just wanted to give props to J for how good he and his car looked... better luck next time

The 008 on asphalt is coming along great and I can't wait to see what the next few weeks/months bring as we work up to the Reedy Race and the ROAR asphalt nats!

Thanks Steve. I am stoked to have you as a teammate again! My car is getting better each weekend, but it's coming along slowly. I definitely had a few teething pains with the car, but nothing too unusual. It's good to have a few people to help you along. (you too, Barry, just wish we saw you more often at the track!)

I guess this is my first post in the 008 thread so I should start by saying...
I have been really impressed with the whole Xray brand so far; the parts and manufacturing are totally top shelf and the set up options and tunability seem endless. I love the quality of the Hudy tools as well. It's a pleasure working with them. Many thanks to Ralph and Barry for bringing me onto the team. I am looking forward to being very competitive at the Reedy Race this year. And many thanks to Chad and Trinity for their assistance and continued support as well. ( I think this is my 6th year with Trinity!?) Anyhow, I am really rediscovering the fun of club racing and wrenching and I think a lot of that has to due with the new ride. Thanks guys!

Jay--Since you and Steve are working hard on setups for the Reedy, I might get the 008, I was thining of just running the 007 for the year.
See you both up in Roseville or Ripon soon.

If you guys come up with a wicked rubber tire setup let me know as I will be hurting in the rubber tire arena as soon as my car comes in....
