It has quite a bit to do with brushless. With brushless electrical equipment on one side of the car there is a slight weight imbalance when running 5 cells (imbalance depends on your equipment) with the 007. The motor is the heaviest item on the left hand side of the car and as such moving this closer to the centre of the car helps the side to side balance.

In fact we had a 008 on the Hudy balance tools the other day and balance with 5 cells was 100% perfect. This was with Nosram brushless speedo, receiver and motor. The receiver was placed in front of the cells on the right hand side of the chassis. The new design works!

Looks like the factory guys are running the older outdrives.
When we get the new kits how do we adapt the older outdrives.
I heard the new ones in mod are braking ? Whats the story.
exact same question in my mind ... looking at the pics, i din't see a single factory guy running the plastic outdrives in mod. what gives? ... i hope not the plastic outdrives!

Yeah fair enough
But in every picture i have seen, ALL have had the older outdrives.
I don't want to rubbish the car i love the xrays, but i don't want to be screwed around with diff problems when i get the new car.
I want a weapon from the start not a doughy machine from melted rear diffs.

Why don't you have a sit and tell us how you really feel

I agree 100%, but the new outdrives look pretty good. I really like the fact that they completely capture the driveshaft ends, and that blades are no longer needed.

First off, the car is still pre-production. Second, we dont know how many guys have run the plastic outdrives and at what races. A few pictures of pre-production cars not running plastic outdrives tells us nothing.

They were not available to everyone that is why we did not use them. The old outdrives with the replacement caps still works great.

Everybody at XRAY is working very hard to finish the production of the T2'008 asap. There is still not possible to make any exact release date as still some important parts are not still finished. I expect to have more info sometimes by end of next week.
Thank you again for patience and support. The goods news is that since the first prototypes until the last pre-production cars there was still a lot of development and improvements made, so the final T2'008 will be the car to beat on carpet. More details on the final specs will come shortly.

With the various versions and tuning features it will perform on carpet or asphalt...

With the Worlds coming up soon, rest assured that Xray will not have ignored asphalt performance.
