question about setup for carpet. Are you guys using a softer tire then what you use to run with the "other" 1/12 on the market? I have not run a none t-bar type car, but was always running purple fronts and gray or pink rears. with the db12r, I am running a double pink front. they are not wearing any more then a purple and the car does not seam to be twitchy at all. just checking. I am thinking because it carries so much more speed that my setup is looking for like a 19t setup then a stock setup.
the db12r is great. I have never been comfortable running a car 6" from the board. they always wander a little, but with the db12r, I can keep it mear inches from the boards and it holds its line. the car is soo stable, it build confidence quickly.

what are you guys going to run for you series race next weekend? need to know if I bring stock, 19t or brushless.

The 12th scale class run 19T and sedan run all 3 (stock/19t/mod).

Jason, would you at elast think about making a 1/10 pan car version of the DB12R? I guess you'll need to make chassis plate (wide/narrow), rear pod lower and upper plates, ...the rest can be used from DB12R...

I ran magenta / magenta (dbl. pink, 35 shore, etc.) on my car at our med/low traction track. That being said, I have seen every thing from purple/ white, to gray/gray, to magenta/pink in stock motor cars of all types. The recommendations in the manual have been pretty much right on from my limited experience. BMI recommended magenta/magenta, and if a magenta front is working for you, stick with it.

No pretty much everyone runs the same tires. It s was at least 3 years ago that we ran purple fronts and pink rears (asphalt) or grey rears (carpet).

What happend was we got more power from the batteries mainly in mod 1/12th. The cars were running so hard that we started heating up the purple compounds tires. This made them get gummy and the car would traction roll and steer too hard. Someone figured out that double pink foam was diffrent and would not get gummy so they started running that up front. Then the mod 1/12th guys started lighting up the rear grey compound tires. They started running pink rears on carpet just like on asphalt. Then the stock club race guys on lower traction tracts figured out that could run the same tires when the grip was low and go a lot faster.

So...we all run softer tires now and we go faster.
