You may be on to something... I may be making them a bit too tight. Once I get my resupply in, I will check

Just looked at the broken car and one of the balls is very free as it should and one is bound up a bit... good call.

One more question... I may be doing something wrong, but I cant get a Futaba 9650 to work with the servo mounts setup for a flat servo. The braket and the wire for the servo kinda try to occupy the same bit of time and space

any thoughts?

I have the same servo, and noticed the same problem. If you remove the little rubber strain relief on the servo wires. Just undo the bottom of the servo case and gently slide the rubber piece out of the way, no need to cut it off completely, then replace the bottom of the servo case. Next, you will have to slightly bevel the edge of the servo mount right where it interferes with the wire. Should take a little hand fitting, but if you take your time it should work fine. If you wish to reseal the case where the wires exit the servo, use a small dab of ShoeGoo. Hope this helps.

To solve the problem I use just the 2 bottom holes and 2 screws for the servo....

The DB12RR Rules! Check this out. I bought a CRC Gen-X and raced it 3 race weekends. I couldn't seem to get used to it. So I bought a DB12RR. Today was only the second time I have ran the DB12RR. Here is the difference.

Gen-X
Hot Lap: 8.9
Average Lap: 9.8
Laps in 8 MIN: 52

DB12RR
Hot Lap: 8.3
Average Lap: 8.7
Laps In 8 Min: 55

Same track, same motor, and same batteries!!

On my DB12R I shoe goo'd the servo in place since the servo I had was missing the ears. I since fixed my Airtronics 94145 servo and mounted that in the car instead. With the BMI mounts I had the same concern...the servo would fit but had more strain on the wire then I liked. I switched to some Darkside servo mounts that I had which are just a slotted L shape and that fit real well and gave me more servo mounting position options. Problem is because they are slotted if I take the servo off for cleaning it is a pain to get lined up again. So if I plan not to take the servo off again I might as well go back to using Shoe Goo. I'll be doing that later this week.

I ran Parmas with the Gen-X. Jacos didn't work well for me on the Gen-X. But on the DB12RR I ran Jacos. I am not saying the Gen-X is a bad car, because it's not, there are guys I race with that have them and they are fast with them. It just wasn't for me. The very first pack I put through the DB12RR I was 5 tenths faster. The car is just crazy fast, smooth, and consistent. I am very happy with it.
