Richie.... you gotta show if I'm gonna show! btw: nice job! Dont be so grumpy in the morning or I wont say hi.

The 5 cell mod touring cars are flat out amazing. Not only are they fast, they corner and brake on a dime and give 9 cents change. Guys are not burning up brushes. The cars are not all littered with fans. They get a weight varience for 5 cell. Lots of good reasons to run it from what I see.

It sounds like there is some great racing going on at SIR but wondering when was the last time a major car manufacturer skipped a nats. Just curious.

Those that DID come to the race seem to be having a great time. It was great to see so many old friends and to put some faces to people I had heard about.

The Roar Folks and Doug looked to be doing a great ob... I am so glad that it all worked out so well.

And WOW Fred is in the A main! woohoo! And great job Korey! You made the show! Should be some great racing on Sunday.
We'll all be glued to the internet....

Most of the information posted has been correct regarding brushed vs. brushless...here are the few corrections.

Almost all of the AE team are running brushless. Cavalieri is running Orion brushed with 5 cells, Hohwart & Torikka are both running LRP brushless with 5 cells; as are myself and Skidmore. We are all running 4.5 turns.

Pauly is running LRP brushless and has done so since the first qualifier. He practiced with the Speed Passion brushless motor and the Cobalt2 Truespeed. The Speed Passion motor isn't ROAR legal and he had some troubles with the brushed motor. From what I've heard he's had no problems with the LRP 4.5 turn throughout the event.

I'm 99% sure that all the mod "A" main is running 5 cells. The track is pretty tight and horsepower doesn't really come in to play. On a similar note, I'd like to thank ROAR for stepping out and allowing 5 cells at this race. It will only be a matter of time until this is the standard and I just hope the other "non-sanctioned" races follow suit.

Brent, thanks for the info. The only other question I'm left with is, what gearing range is in use for the LRP 4.5 on 5cell?

For a starting point for X11 4.5 turn, 5 cell we use 20/87 which is 8.7:1 I would think that for SIR they might even go to 9.0. For a big track like Tamiya you would go up to about 8.0
