Default Newbie Questions PLZ read and ADV|ISE

Why haven't alex racing followed the recent trend to put the batteries on the other side?

Is the new steering system much better/worse than the R2 version?

Is the car brittle or easly breakable ?

Is there anything else about this car ishould know before buying this car?

to answer your questions...

new steering is just as good. but its awesome if you buy the speedway pal aluminum rack and put the bearings in it

the car is a tank. i havent broken anything. well scratch that. i hit a pvc pipe about 6 inches in diameter and the kingpin screw came loose. nothing broke. hit the same spot with a different car, broke the c-hub and other parts...

yes.. not before.. but WHEN youbuy, make sure you purchase the aluminum shaft holders right away. this will make your life a lot easier.

im not the expert on the car.. but if you have any more questions.. all the guys in here will help you out. and steve from speedtech has everything you need for this car.

I maybe wrong but the reason they run the batteries on that side is that in japan they run counterclockwise. Thats what I understand it to be.

Thanks guys so the next question is i suspose..............

What should i buy with the kit up-grade wise.Any part no. as well would be great as i know nothing about this car.

What springs(the range and average stiffnesses) are you using?

Have you guys seen the Triox car ??
http://www.planet-rc.com/

It's an R2 but with the cells on the oposite side !
What do you all think to that ??

I will prolly buy 1 or the other any view please ?

Sorry i haven't read all the thread but it gets sOOOOO off topic i can't take the time needed !

So what car are you wanting? R2, R3, Xplosion, R2 w/ Xenon upgrade? I am very happy with my Xenon R2. It's not as fragile as the TC3 in my book. I've had a TC3 and was not hppy with it. Maybe I just got a bad car.

Triox is old news and speedway pal offered the car with batt's on the other side .IMO the car handles well in the regular form.
I have had every alex car that they made and all of the speedway pal cars .

The best for you to do is get which ever kit you want be it R3 or triox which is out dated now the R3 is here. build it and run it before buying all kinds of goodies to see what fits you best as far as hop-ups you might think the car is fine right out of the box.

Does R2 use the same main shaft as R3? Can anyone help me what's the length from pin to pin? Thanks.
ps: I tried the 414M bones, it doesn't fit Cuda. Best shot is SD.
