Smile YOKOMO BD or YOKOMO SDW???

Which one would you prefer to get for serious Race/competition? If you have only 2 options to choose, would you take YOKOMO BD or SDW? please specify the reasons.

Just curious to know

First I will ask,,,,,What type of racing?
MOD or Stock or 19T or in between them all....
So here you go...
If you are a stock racer mostly I say the SD with the LCG conversion gives me great results with Stock motors.
For everything else the BD is tops...
I have both and this weekend I will race both...
SD-LCG for Stock
BD for 19T
Hope this helps

The BD is nothing to scoff at in stock either...I did well with it last race...Before I go the LCG...

Nice Pics Shookie!! Thanks!! I m sure there s more technology in those cars than in that washing machine!

I hope you will make good results in stock with your LCG, should be easy actually!

I still have the LCG on my wish list but I dont like the Idea of using all the parts of my SDW, I dont even race it and will never even try it once, thats what makes it special... Just curious to see how much it would sell on Ebay in 10 years!

See ya!

Well if there is ever a tread in RC i don't like is the Driver replica. It can only bring in as much as the drivers popularity. Yes Masami is probably the hands down winningest driver in the history of RC and will porobaly never be topped from that honor. But I looked at what the Hara replica from the Yokomo MR-4TC was and even new in box after 7 years it was only getting $200.00. Just thought I would point it out.
And to be honest the LCG has even improved the SDW.
Not to take away anything from the SDW because it is still a great car but the LCG took all that is good and right of that car and the BD and made the best shaft car on the planet. PERIOD. No other shaft can even come close to fit and finish, or the ability to get to the key parts quickly.
Just my two pennies.
If I were you I would buy and old SD or even better and cheaper the CGM off Ebay and just use those parts.
You will eventually buy all the right parts later once you break so don't worry so much about takign the stuff off the SDW just buy the SD off ebay right now for http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW
then get the LCG. you will be very happy you did.
Or even better in the for sale thread here there might be someone dumping there CGM for even cheaper.
Hope this helps

BD hands down...

in serious racing, handling and consistency is in my opinion the key in winning... the BD gives you both...

Best question is. Which will you use more? Then you have yoru answer. It is always better to go with the one you will get the most use out of.
That is why I got the LCG even after I got the BD.
My first love was shaft drive and especially for stock, but my skill is coming up (ever so slowly but coming up none the less) so I wanted a car that could handle the move to 19T and eventually MOD.
I don't think I will need another car upgrade for a couple of years.
There is so much technolegy wraped inside these little cars now adays that to improve on them will take another two years at least.
Just my tow pennies, use them to help fund you cause...LOL

i havent raced it yet so i dont know how it will go, it should go very well. the build quality of this compared to any other sd ive built is alot better i just have to get the diffs shimmed properly and it will be great. i did put a 9 double in it and just drove it up and down the street, it was fast and handled suprsingly well.
