I believe i have one of the later production versions of the SD..
and it makes me wonder if the C-hubs that i have are the 4143H versions??
Anyone can shoot some pics of the old ones and the new ones for comparison?
Has there been any rolling changes that weren't updated to the manual or anything?

Yay
Got myself a CGM conversion set today. Looks like it's superstiff, very nice steering too
Will do the conversion during the week to CGM-status and premiere-race it on this saturday on slippery Schumacher rubbertires and some real grippy carpet, will be a real fun experience

Hi there

Guys with the CGM, if you dun mind, can you please post your views with regards to the freeplay ("slop") in the steering assembly? I was looking at a friend's SD drift package the other day and the slop was quite bad... I dare say even worse than a stock SSG SD's.

I have examined a Rayspeed conversion's steering too and it was fantastic.

I also noticed that Masami changed the steering actuation point on his CGM, anyone found out why? My Japanese sucks so I couldn't read that article in RC magazine

Cheers

the slop in the steering? have you ever looked at the slop in some of the other companys cars all over it? I have because I scqutenize eveything and all the yokomo steering is the same. same amount of ball cups on all the cars, there for the same slop, so it will very on the mechanic and the crashes, ect...and as for the rayspeed steering it has more slop, if you look were the extra graffite part that conexts the steering will actually cam up and down at first movement before it goes left and right, so it depends usually on some variables..

Running RPM ball cups will get rid of most of the slop as well, they are as close to a perfect fit as you can get.

Thanks for the tip Randman
I am experimenting with ball cups now, the "donut" shaped Yok ones are better than stock but the material is still too soft.

I wouldn't be asking abt the slop if it didn't alarmed me, I did build a few cars before, maybe not as many as a factory driver but what I saw wasn't normal for a Yok, for now I will put it down to a building error.

Cheers

Hi there
It should be RC World, the latest issue with a warus-nosed Williams F1 car on the cover.

Cheers
