WYD, I've got a silly amount of money into it and nowhere to open it up and utilize the HP... I like my VFR better anyway...
So, if I manage to switch to the RS towers, can I use the stock shocks with longer ends??? I'm in no mood to be buying new shocks... I'm not going with the whole RS conversion, if anything I'm getting the fbre-lyte or and other tub conversion when they come out...

From what I read you can use long ball ends if you use the Rayspeed Spring retainers.
As long as you like you R1 that is all that matters.

I've got a question for Kilruf, or anyone else who has the SS Shocks. Are the shock shafts that come with the SS shocks different (longer) than the the shock shafts that come with the SSS shocks. I was thinking about buying just the SS shock bodies instead of the whole shock kit.

They are the same length.

Ok so what exactly does the RS chassis need shockwise? You can't use the stock SD shocks? What would I need to order to get the proper setup? Also, will the stock SD benefit from the longer shocks and would I need new springs cause i have a bunch of yokomo springs for my SD already.

All I did was buy the shock bodies from Rainbowten. They are like ¥900 a piece. Then I just used the parts from my SSS shocks to build the SS shocks. Quick... easy.... simple.

Just put the long ball ends on your SSS shocks and then use the Rayspeed Spring retainers and your ready to run you RS Conversion. My conversion will be here today and by Saturday or late friday night I will have a rolling chassis setup and then I will post how my RS is setup shock wise. If I can figure out how to post a picture I will will do that.

Ok... The RS setup reqires the longer shock bodies... With my current setup, my shocks are 62mm long and RS Red and White springs, 5mm ride height and 5mm of droop I've got a huge gap between the spring and collar at full droop... I'm feeling that the gap will be even larger with the longer bodies...

You will be fine with the just using the long shock ball ends. I used them before on my SG in the rear like that and 64mm length is very easy to get. Since you already have RS springs on your car I imagine you have their spring retainers as well so you shouldn't have any problems acheiving the length you need.
