HI MIKE i have a set of 3h tamiya pistons with part # 53573,are these the proper 3h tamiya pistons that are commonly used, and will xray or associated springs work with the phi.which are the best springs to use.

Hi Mike,

in my last practices with foam on carpet I was testing "Brad Johnson The Gate" setup found on Corally USA site and works pretty good, I' m fast and consistent, but now I want to try also your setup.
I have just a couple of questions:
- you (and Tosolini also) used the 36T diff pulleys both front and rear, was it to have a shorter brace of the belt working against the diff balls? With the 36T, torque and speed on the diff axle are the same of the 42T, but the teeth diameter is smaller.
I think this helps the diff assy to carry better the load of the Mod configuration.

- with the 36T pulleys, which belts must be used? I see you set short wheelbase front and rear, was it just shimming the arms, or moving the clamps on the chassis?

Thank you

Eddi.

Need your guys help with a lil test.

I ran my Phi today with the 13.5 Brushless. We have been running the 13.5 with stock motors. A couple guys were upset about this and I wanted too run a stock motor in my car and see if it was the same.

I was running 57mm tires. 13.5/GTB and 100 spur and 38 pinion. Everything is stock on the car. If running a Co27. What gearing do I need to add on to get the same results?

Thanks a bunch for your help.

Tom

Why, why, why take a step backwards? You are leading them in the right direction. The 13.5 with either sintered rotor is hands down faster than the best of the CO27s.

You are leading the way...

I know this may have been asked but will the new PHI diffs work in the RDX? Will the one-way and spool work in the RDX?

I'm no expert here, but I believe since the RDX diffs work in the Phi the Phi diffs, one way and spool should work in the RDX. Jeff Brown would be better at answering this question.

Because they are mad that other guys are so much faster now with the 13.5 than they were with the 27 turns. I wanted to do a test from my good 13.5 set-up to the same 27 turn set-up. Just to show that I can run the same with a good 27 turn as I can with the 13.5.

Please help with a conversion on what gearing I need to run.

Thanks
Tom

Which version of the 13.5 do you have(Novak? LRP? Which rotor)? Do you race carpet or outdoors?I doubt there will be any brushed motors in our series for 2008.Once your buddy switch they'll never go back to a brushed motor- I won't.

That is because the Brushless 13.5 is way faster than any CO27 no matter what you do. Of course gearing would make them closer, but never equal. Even Novak claims that you will get "similar," but not equal. They are now releasing a 17.5 to be closer since it has been shown that the 13.5 is way faster.

My local club and a big regional race allows 13.5t this year. They were clearly way faster than 27t. In fact, they are pretty much the same speed as a decent 19t, and a little slower than a well-tuned 19t. So, my local club has now put 13.5t in with 19t.

I know that they will not match speed for speed. However, Club racers are different then the Pro as far as results on the track.

I didn't mean to turn this into the 13.5 love/hate thread.

Please help me with the gearing of a good stock 27 turn motor in the RDX PHI.

Thanks
Tom

The trick is in the diff carriers.

Rdx will fit because you reverse the top carrier to change the bearing location.

The new PHI bearings are closer and will not fit in the RDX.
