what is the difference between Diff pulley and Spool pulley? they look identical! I have a 41 pulley that comes with a red line marked on it. is that a Spool pulley or diff pulley? are they interchangalbe?

The difference is the spool pulley has no holes made for the diff balls. I think you can still make it work as a spool if you put the sandpaper pieces in there and take the diff balls out.

The black spool pulleys (both the 41 tooth and 42 tooth) have spacers installed over the diff ball holes, but are otherwise the same as the diff pulley. The 41 tooth pulleys (diff, spool, and one-way) are usually used to overdrive the front wheels.

Does anbody know if there is a losi part number for a complete diff or do I just need to order everything seperate? Are there any advantages in the flying fox front spool over the stock diff with a spool pulley?

no complete set, fflying fox 1pc will give you straight accelation, harder. and snap on braking. but requires some modification to make it last.

I heard that you Have to use AE Stealth Differential Lube (black letter) with ceramic diff balls, not to use regular red letter AE diff lube. can anyone please varify this. thank you.

No never use black grease on the balls just get a decent thrust race and rebuild whenever it get gritty. Xray thrust works well although it is expensive.

he ment Black Letters. yes a stealth lube does have black letters on it, use that. as you've said black thrust grease is for the thrust BB. clear stealth grease have black letters on a packaging is for the Diff balls

Thats interesting about the spool, thanks. I just started running it last night. What about that foreign company that makes the alu outdrives? Would that be a good option for the spool?

IMO not an good idea, origianl plastic cup design is like having an plastic C pillow, kinda cushion for the CVDs to ride on, metal outdrive will creates groove (half pipe?) figure in no time and that will cause binding. you know how horrible that is.

Here's an eBay source, although it's expensive. Sym Bang makes fans that a number of big r/c suppliers have labeled over the years, although it's tough to search for those because they're never called "sym bang" fans.

Thanks Greg. I was just doing some measuring, its seems like running one 30mm fan diagonally on top of the motor might work. The screw holes diagonally on each bulkhead measure about 42mm apart. Close to the measurement of the holes diagonally on a 30mm fan

Also, a separate newb question. I have experienced advances in the esc technology after starting this year with an LRP Sphere and now having a Tekin RS. I currently run my friends used Duo 13.5 motor. Does anybody know if there is an amount of normal usage time or whatever, where a brushless motor will start to fall off performance wise ? I am thinking about trying a new motor. Are all good 13.5 relatively the same performance wise? I just dont want to get a certain one, and then find another is superior or...... Kind of like the esc stuff i guess.

Dont kill me-Is a Duo 2 better than a Duo?
