I recently acquired a JRXS-R along with many spares. I have a ball diff for it but also another diff that is either a ¨spool"or one way". I need help on how to identify one from the other. The one I think is a spool has no places for diff balls but does have a place on each side for a diff ring and it can be tightened or lessened like a ball diff. I believe that I do not have a one way but don t know what it looks like. The manual does mention what a spool vs one way does but does not offer any pictures.

It should be obvious if you have a spool or a one-way by just giving the outdrives a twist by hand. The spool will be locked; the outdrives and the pulley are all connected directly as a single unit, and will turn together. The outdrives on a one-way spin freely in one direction, but lock to the pulley in the other direction.

While it may be fun to investigate using a one-way, personally I have never found it useful.

Yes. That's an old exotek unit I got on clearance years ago, it's not really high-flex or anything like that, it's meant to be a more LiPo-friendly piece that deletes the side braces. It might save a few grams, but cutting down the stock top deck does as well.

After asking this question, I tested a set of 50mm X-ray and it would fit. You would have to use the same X-ray knuckles and even an X-ray c-hub. With a little plastic removal it will fit on the stock arms.
