i was reading a couple pages back about the droop screws..i have had issues also with stripping them.i just remove them and use a standard 440 screw..i think its the 3/32 tip.never had any problems after that.....also reading about breakages..the only thing i have ever broke was c-hubs.but cutting excess axle stopped that.

Ive got a spare kit that I can sell, however I will need to go over it in time to see what I need to replace what I have taken out. Wasnt much, as I've only had mine for about a month.

what front spring is that?
noticed you have your electrics mounted towards the front. Is this to calm down the steering abit?

They look like the old aqua springs we used to use for the XXX-S. More weight in the front gives you more on power steering.
Just machined the bulkheads down even with the layshaft bearings, then shimmed the rear bulkheads up 1mm. Probably only needed .5mm
Yes they arent too bad. they are actually how Ive always run my type r's (machined down even to bottom of layshaft bearings). Only difference with this car is shimming the rear bulkheads up a lil.
Also before anyone asks, no I did not compensate shimming the rear bulkheads by shimming the front of the top deck up. I am running a completely gutted top deck with no supports and plastic battery tray. The car flexes so much the little bit of verticle pull down flex from not shimming the top deck really does not make a difference to me.
The car was real good, finished 2nd to Larry Fairtrace and was less than a tenth off his hotlap with very limited time on the car (maybe only 2 full runs)
Pretty good start with it.

Link to my car in the for sale thread. If you are new to the Type R this is a great investment! I've driven a Losi since I got into the hobby and thought it was time to try something new. I will miss the car, I will always remember it as my first.
Happy Viewing.
