I used a spare pair of turnbuckles I found in my pit box. I think they are actually camber link ones from the original JRXS. They were pretty short in length. The main thing is to find ones with a narrow adjuster nut, you can always trim the actual threads down.

I have moved on from the platform, lets just say I still think the arms are too short on this car to not have the problem on super high bite tracks. You can make it go away, but you will give up something to get there.

Fitted the EXOTEK top decks to my Rs this past few days, and I have to say that the finish of the decks were not as good as the standard decks. Where the holes/cutouts are on the decks, the 2 I have show signs of the top most layer being peeled back/broken away. One of them wasn't too bad, but the other one was very obvious. I finished them off by sanding and CA'ing the edges in hope that the delamination would not continue through the rest of the deck.
The CF battery tray screw holders were very tight to cut a thread into, and in the process I had 2 delaminate on me too. I would recommend to anyone getting the EXOTEK top deck to keep the aluminium ones and cut them down to size.
Will be trying them out on rubber/carpet and rubber/asphalt in the next comin weeks.

Hey guys,
Just thought I'd post my setup from the last round of the BRCA nationals this past weekend.
Made the B in 10.5t, might not sounds great, but it's by far my best result of the year. Managed to get setup that seemed pretty well balanced, with good turn in and mid-corner rotation... if only the diff hadn't of gone bang in the finals, might have finished better than tenth

I have always run the flying fox spool and it works great but in mod it strips the plastic clip in out drives nearly every run, i tried one of the Losi slipper spools and it works just as good BUT i have not stripped one plastic out drive, might be worth a try if you cant get a FF spool.

From what FF said, your gonna have a nice fix for those outdrives. He will be producing both the V2 Spool and replacement outdrives for our Type R's.

Its a normal Losi diff BUT you use a Losi slipper pulley, the pulley runs plastic slipper pads instead of balls, then the diff is built as a normal diff.
Yeah the new FF spool is going to run delrin cups instead of plastic which will be great, if it ever happens.

I always thought the stock outdrives were machined out of delrin.

They are. There just isn't enough surface area where they key into the spool to hold the forces a spool can sometimes generate. My new outdrives will have about 3 time the area in the key to solve that. Part of the plan is for these new outdrives to be backwards compatible with older spools and kit diffs. Mine will be less expensive than the Losi outdrives too. These are parts that should be replaced very often, but at $5 a pop people probably use them longer than is ideal. Once they get a notch in them from the drive shaft pin, handling will be compromised.
I attempted to use a completely different material for the outdrives. the prototypes worked well but when I went to have them produced, the wasted material kept shutting down the machine. It was a very disappointing day indeed to abort production after waiting a while for the machine to be available. I really am close now to go again with Delrin.
I am also going to start producing a new ball diff that uses a bearing between the pulley and diff hub. This should help the car a lot on low to medium grip when getting on the power. i will post some pics of the prototype soon.
